So also, the one with two bags of gold gained two more.

The one with the two bags of gold earned two more.

So also he who had the two talents made two talents more.

In the same way the man with two earned two more.

In the same way the one who had received the two talents earned two more.

And likewise he who had received two gained two more also.

In like manner he also that received the two gained other two.

In the same way the man with two earned two more.

In the same way, he also who got the two gained another two.

Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce.Then he will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine.

Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days.

She must be well respected by everyone because of the good she has done. Has she brought up her children well? Has she been kind to strangers and served other believers humbly? Has she helped those who are in trouble? Has she always been ready to do good?

I have singled him out so that he will direct his sons and their families to keep the way of the Lord by doing what is right and just. Then I will do for Abraham all that I have promised.”

Meanwhile, Jesus was in Bethany at the home of Simon, a man who had previously had leprosy. While he was eating, a woman came in with a beautiful alabaster jar of expensive perfume made from essence of nard. She broke open the jar and poured the perfume over his head.Some of those at the table were indignant.“ Why waste such expensive perfume?” they asked.“ It could have been sold for a year’s wages and the money given to the poor!” So they scolded her harshly.But Jesus replied,“ Leave her alone. Why criticize her for doing such a good thing to me?You will always have the poor among you, and you can help them whenever you want to. But you will not always have me.She has done what she could and has anointed my body for burial ahead of time.

Send your grain across the seas, and in time, profits will flow back to you.But divide your investments among many places, for you do not know what risks might lie ahead.When clouds are heavy, the rains come down. Whether a tree falls north or south, it stays where it falls.Farmers who wait for perfect weather never plant. If they watch every cloud, they never harvest.Just as you cannot understand the path of the wind or the mystery of a tiny baby growing in its mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the activity of God, who does all things.Plant your seed in the morning and keep busy all afternoon, for you don’t know if profit will come from one activity or another— or maybe both.

May the Lord show special kindness to Onesiphorus and all his family because he often visited and encouraged me. He was never ashamed of me because I was in chains.When he came to Rome, he searched everywhere until he found me.May the Lord show him special kindness on the day of Christ’s return. And you know very well how helpful he was in Ephesus.

Yes, you will be enriched in every way so that you can always be generous. And when we take your gifts to those who need them, they will thank God.So two good things will result from this ministry of giving— the needs of the believers in Jerusalem will be met, and they will joyfully express their thanks to God.As a result of your ministry, they will give glory to God. For your generosity to them and to all believers will prove that you are obedient to the Good News of Christ.And they will pray for you with deep affection because of the overflowing grace God has given to you.

So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone— especially to those in the family of faith.

There was a believer in Joppa named Tabitha( which in Greek is Dorcas). She was always doing kind things for others and helping the poor.About this time she became ill and died. Her body was washed for burial and laid in an upstairs room.But the believers had heard that Peter was nearby at Lydda, so they sent two men to beg him,“ Please come as soon as possible!”So Peter returned with them; and as soon as he arrived, they took him to the upstairs room. The room was filled with widows who were weeping and showing him the coats and other clothes Dorcas had made for them.

So Ahab summoned Obadiah, who was in charge of the palace.( Obadiah was a devoted follower of the Lord.Once when Jezebel had tried to kill all the Lord’s prophets, Obadiah had hidden 100 of them in two caves. He put fifty prophets in each cave and supplied them with food and water.)

So the believers in Antioch decided to send relief to the brothers and sisters in Judea, everyone giving as much as they could.This they did, entrusting their gifts to Barnabas and Saul to take to the elders of the church in Jerusalem.

He was a devout, God fearing man, as was everyone in his household. He gave generously to the poor and prayed regularly to God.

God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another.

Whatever you give is acceptable if you give it eagerly. And give according to what you have, not what you don’t have.

One day Elisha went to the town of Shunem. A wealthy woman lived there, and she urged him to come to her home for a meal. After that, whenever he passed that way, he would stop there for something to eat.She said to her husband,“ I am sure this man who stops in from time to time is a holy man of God.Let’s build a small room for him on the roof and furnish it with a bed, a table, a chair, and a lamp. Then he will have a place to stay whenever he comes by.”

And say to Archippus,“ Be sure to carry out the ministry the Lord gave you.”

For God is not unjust. He will not forget how hard you have worked for him and how you have shown your love to him by caring for other believers, as you still do.Our great desire is that you will keep on loving others as long as life lasts, in order to make certain that what you hope for will come true.

“ All who heard me praised me. All who saw me spoke well of me.For I assisted the poor in their need and the orphans who required help.I helped those without hope, and they blessed me. And I caused the widows’ hearts to sing for joy.Everything I did was honest. Righteousness covered me like a robe, and I wore justice like a turban.I served as eyes for the blind and feet for the lame.I was a father to the poor and assisted strangers who needed help.I broke the jaws of godless oppressors and plucked their victims from their teeth.

“ Have I refused to help the poor, or crushed the hopes of widows?Have I been stingy with my food and refused to share it with orphans?No, from childhood I have cared for orphans like a father, and all my life I have cared for widows.Whenever I saw the homeless without clothes and the needy with nothing to wear,did they not praise me for providing wool clothing to keep them warm?“ If I raised my hand against an orphan, knowing the judges would take my side,then let my shoulder be wrenched out of place! Let my arm be torn from its socket!

He was very old— eighty years of age— and very wealthy. He was the one who had provided food for the king during his stay in Mahanaim.
