He told them,“ You are not permitted to know the times or periods that the Father has set by his own authority.

So while he was sitting on the Mount of Olives opposite the temple, Peter, James, John, and Andrew asked him privately,“ Tell us, when will these things happen? And what will be the sign that all these things are about to take place?”

Now when they approached Jerusalem and came to Bethphage, at the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two disciples,

for then he would have had to suffer again and again since the foundation of the world. But now he has appeared once for all at the consummation of the ages to put away sin by his sacrifice.

One said to the man clothed in linen who was above the waters of the river,“ When will the end of these wondrous events occur?”Then I heard the man clothed in linen who was over the waters of the river as he raised both his right and left hands to the sky and made an oath by the one who lives forever:“ It is for a time, times, and half a time. Then, when the power of the one who shatters the holy people has been exhausted, all these things will be finished.”I heard, but I did not understand. So I said,“ Sir, what will happen after these things?”

But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have been alert and would not have let his house be broken into.

For just like the days of Noah were, so the coming of the Son of Man will be.

and the enemy who sows them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are angels.As the weeds are collected and burned with fire, so it will be at the end of the age.

“ Learn this parable from the fig tree: Whenever its branch becomes tender and puts out its leaves, you know that summer is near.So also you, when you see all these things, know that he is near, right at the door.

For just like the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so the coming of the Son of Man will be.

It will be this way at the end of the age. Angels will come and separate the evil from the righteous

Now on the topic of times and seasons, brothers and sisters, you have no need for anything to be written to you.For you know quite well that the day of the Lord will come in the same way as a thief in the night.Now when they are saying,“ There is peace and security,” then sudden destruction comes on them, like labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will surely not escape.But you, brothers and sisters, are not in the darkness for the day to overtake you like a thief would.For you all are sons of the light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of the darkness.So then we must not sleep as the rest, but must stay alert and sober.For those who sleep, sleep at night and those who get drunk are drunk at night.But since we are of the day, we must stay sober by putting on the breastplate of faith and love and as a helmet our hope for salvation.For God did not destine us for wrath but for gaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.He died for us so that whether we are alert or asleep we will come to life together with him.Therefore encourage one another and build up each other, just as you are in fact doing.

teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

So when Peter saw him, he asked Jesus,“ Lord, what about him?”Jesus replied,“ If I want him to live until I come back, what concern is that of yours? You follow me!”

So they asked him,“ Teacher, when will these things happen? And what will be the sign that these things are about to take place?”

Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said,“ Why couldn’t we cast it out?”

And they knew nothing until the flood came and took them all away. It will be the same at the coming of the Son of Man.

Then he left the crowds and went into the house. And his disciples came to him saying,“ Explain to us the parable of the weeds in the field.”

Then the disciples came to him and said,“ Do you know that when the Pharisees heard this saying they were offended?”

Then the disciples came to him and said,“ Why do you speak to them in parables?”He replied,“ You have been given the opportunity to know the secrets of the kingdom of heaven, but they have not.
