For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.

因為閃電怎樣從天這邊一閃，直照到天那邊，人子在他的日子也必這樣。只是他必須先受許多苦，又被這世代棄掉。在挪亞的日子怎樣，在人子的日子也必怎樣；人喫喝嫁娶，直到挪亞進樓船那一天，洪水一來，把他們都滅了。又好像在羅得的日子一樣；人喫喝買賣，栽種建造；但羅得從所多瑪出來那一天，上帝從天上下火雨跟硫磺雨，把他們都滅了。在人子顯示出來的日子也必如此。當那日子，人在房頂上、而家具在屋子裏的、不要下來取；那在田地裏的、也照樣不要返回。你們要記得羅得的妻子。凡尋求保全自己性命的、必失掉性命；凡失掉性命的、必保存性命以活着。我告訴你們，當這一夜、兩個人在一個床上，必有一個被接去，那另一個被撇下。兩個女人在一處推磨；必有一個被接去，那另一個被撇下。』

永恆主必顯現在他們以上；他的箭必射出如閃電；主永恆主必吹號角，乘南方的旋風而行。

但他來的日子誰能當得起呢？他顯現時、誰能站立得住呢？『因為他像煉金之人的火，像漂布之人的鹼。

挪亞的日子怎樣，人子之御臨也必怎樣。

我實在告訴你們，在這裏站着的，一定有人在沒有嘗着死以前，就可以看見人子帶着他國的榮耀來臨。』

『看吧，永恆主大而可畏懼之日未到以前我必差遣神言人以利亞到你們這裏來。

不知不覺，到洪水來了，把一切都沖了去：人子之御臨也必這樣。

永恆主必使人聽他威嚴的聲音，使人看他膀臂之下擊，他忿怒中的震怒、和吞滅的火燄、傾盆大雨、暴風、冰雹。

他發雷聲、響遍天下，他發電光、閃到地角。

說：『主御臨的應許在哪裏呢？從列祖長眠了以來，萬物依然不變，像從創造之初一樣啊。』

你能打發閃電、叫它們走去，使它們對你說：「我們在這裏」麼？

耶穌對他說：『狐狸有洞，空中的飛鳥有窩，惟獨人子沒有枕頭的地方！』

耶穌在橄欖山上坐着，門徒暗暗地上他跟前來，說：『請告訴我們：甚麼時候會有這些事呢？你的御臨，以及今世的完結，會有甚麼迹象呢？』

你們也要恆忍，使心裏堅固，因為主的御臨近了。
