For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.

And he said unto them, Wheresoever the body[ is], thither will the eagles be gathered together.

And the LORD shall be seen over them, and his arrow shall go forth as the lightning: and the Lord GOD shall blow the trumpet, and shall go with whirlwinds of the south.

But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he[ is] like a refiner’s fire, and like fullers’ soap:

But as the days of Noe[ were], so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.

Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:

And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

And the LORD shall cause his glorious voice to be heard, and shall shew the lighting down of his arm, with the indignation of[ his] anger, and[ with] the flame of a devouring fire,[ with] scattering, and tempest, and hailstones.

He directeth it under the whole heaven, and his lightning unto the ends of the earth.

And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as[ they were] from the beginning of the creation.

Canst thou send lightnings, that they may go, and say unto thee, Here we[ are]?

And Jesus saith unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air[ have] nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay[ his] head.

And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what[ shall be] the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?

Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.
