如果那些日子不被減少，就沒有一個人能得救。可是為了那些蒙揀選的人，那些日子將被減少。

若不减少那日子，凡有血气的总没有一个得救的；只是为选民，那日子必减少了。

若不减少那些日子，凡血肉之躯的，就没有一个能得救；可是为了选民，那些日子将减少。

如果不缩短灾期，恐怕没有人能活命。但为了选民的缘故，灾期必被缩短。

若非減其日、則無得救者、但為選民故、其日將減耳、

斯時不稍減其日、則無得救者、蓋為所選之民、此日可稍減耳、

若不稍減其日、則無一人得救、但為蒙選者、其日必減、

若不減其時日、血氣之倫、將無倖全；惟為蒙選者之故、時日必當見減。

如果不是主減少了那些日子，就沒有一個人能得救。然而，為了那些蒙揀選的人，就是他所揀選的，他減少了那些日子。

因為假基督們和假先知們會出現，行大神蹟和奇事，如果有可能，甚至迷惑那些蒙揀選的人。

在嘹亮的號角聲中，他要差派他的天使們從四方，從天這邊到天那邊，召集他所揀選的人。

難道神絕不會給那些他所揀選、日夜向他呼求的人主持公道嗎？難道神會耽誤幫助他們嗎？

所以，我為了那些蒙揀選的人忍受一切，好讓他們也能得到那在基督耶穌裡的救恩和永恆的榮耀。

實際上，雙子還沒有出生，也沒有行善或作惡以前——為了要顯明神的揀選心意不是本於人的行為，而是出於召喚人的那一位——

耶和華如此說：「當新酒在累累葡萄中被發現時，人怎樣說：『不要毀滅它，因為有祝福在其中』，我也要怎樣做——為我僕人們的緣故，不把一切都毀滅。我必使後裔從雅各而出，使我眾山的繼承人從猶大而來；我的選民必擁有那地，我的僕人們必居住在那裡。

弟兄們，我不願意你們不明白這奧祕，免得你們自以為聰明。這奧祕就是：以色列人中的部分人變得剛硬，直到外邦人的全數滿足了，以色列全家才會得救，正如經上所記：「一位拯救者將從錫安而來，他要從雅各除去不敬神的心，這就是我的約——當我除去他們罪孽的時候，所給他們的約。」就福音而言，他們因你們的緣故，固然是神的敵人；但就揀選而言，他們因祖先的緣故，卻是蒙愛的，因為神的恩賜和召喚是不撤回的。正如你們以前不肯信從神而現在卻因他們的不信從反而蒙了憐憫；照樣，他們如今也不肯信從，為要藉著你們所蒙的憐憫，讓他們現在也可以蒙憐憫，

「要知道，蒙召喚的人多，而蒙揀選的人少。」

這地必被再次焚燒，其中還會有十分之一的人存留，就像黃連樹和橡樹被砍伐，其中還會有樹樁存留；聖潔的後裔就是這樹樁。」

我要招聚萬國與耶路撒冷作戰，這城將被攻取，房屋被搶掠，女人被強姦；城中的人必有一半被擄去，但剩餘的民不會從城中被剪除。

耶和華宣告：「全地的人必有三分之二被剪除而死，有三分之一存留下來。
