“ So when you see standing in the holy place‘ the abomination that causes desolation,’ spoken of through the prophet Daniel— let the reader understand—

那王必與許多人締結一七之久的盟約。一七之半，他必終止祭牲和供物，並且設立帶來毀滅的可憎之物，直到所定的結局臨到這惡者。」

從廢除日常獻的祭、設立帶來毀滅的可憎之物算起，必經過一千二百九十天。

「當你們看見『那帶來毀滅的可憎之物』站在不當站的地方時（讀者須會意），住在猶太地區的人要逃到山上去；

「你們看見耶路撒冷被重兵包圍時，就知道它被毀滅的日子快到了。

他的軍隊必褻瀆聖地，褻瀆那堡壘，廢除日常獻的祭，設立帶來毀滅的可憎之物。

因為有一天敵人要在你周圍築起壁壘把你團團圍住，四面攻擊你。

那位宣讀這預言的人和那些聽見並遵守其中內容的人有福了，因為日期近了。

你剛開始祈求，就已賜下答覆，我是來告訴你的，因為你倍受眷愛。所以你要留意以下的信息，明白異象的意思。

你要知道，也要明白，從重建耶路撒冷的命令發出，到受膏的君王來臨，其間有七個七加六十二個七。耶路撒冷城及其廣場和壕溝必得重建，且是在艱難時期。

他說：「但以理啊，不要怕，從你在上帝面前謙卑地懇求明白這異象的第一天，你的禱告已蒙垂聽。我是來答覆你的。波斯國的守護神攔阻我二十一日。由於我滯留在波斯諸王那裡，天使長米迦勒便來幫助我。我來是要使你明白將來你同胞的遭遇，因為這異象是關於將來的事。」

因此，我們必須更加重視所聽的道，以免隨流漂去。

他們還派人作偽證說：「司提凡常常講侮辱聖地和律法的話。

他們高喊：「以色列人快來幫忙！就是這人到處教唆人反對我們的民族、律法和聖殿。他還帶希臘人進聖殿，玷污這聖地。」

那人對我說：「人子啊，你要留心用眼看，專心用耳聽，注意我指示你的一切，因為我帶你來這裡正是為了要指示你。你要把所見到的一切告訴以色列人。」

『聖靈對各教會所說的話，凡有耳朵的都應當聽。』」

如果讓祂這樣繼續下去，所有的人都會信祂，那時羅馬人一定會來奪取我們的土地，擄掠我們的人民。」
