耶稣回答律法师和法利赛人，说：“安息日治病合不合法？”

你们律法师有祸了！因为你们把知识的钥匙夺了去，自己不进去，要进去的人，你们也阻挡他们。”

你要赶紧给西纳律师和亚波罗送行，让他们没有缺乏。

耶稣看出他们的恶意，就说：“假冒为善的人哪，为什么试探我？

律法师中有一个回答耶稣，说：“老师，你这样说也把我们侮辱了。”耶稣说：“你们律法师也有祸了！因为你们把难挑的担子放在别人身上，自己却不肯动一个指头去减轻这些担子。

有一个律法师起来试探耶稣，说：“老师！我该做什么才可以承受永生？”耶稣对他说：“律法上写的是什么？你是怎样念的呢？”他回答说：“你要尽心、尽性、尽力、尽意爱主—你的上帝，又要爱邻如己。”耶稣对他说：“你回答得正确，你这样做就会得永生。”那人要证明自己有理，就对耶稣说：“谁是我的邻舍呢？”耶稣回答：“有一个人从耶路撒冷下耶利哥去，落在强盗手中。他们剥去他的衣裳，把他打个半死，丢下他走了。偶然有一个祭司从那条路下来，看见他就从另一边过去了。又有一个利未人来到那里，看见他，也照样从另一边过去了。可是，有一个撒玛利亚人路过那里，看见他就动了慈心，上前用油和酒倒在他的伤处，包裹好了，扶他骑上自己的牲口，带他到旅店里去，照应他。第二天，他拿出两个银币来，交给店主，说：‘请你照应他，额外的费用，我回来时会还你。’你想，这三个人哪一个是落在强盗手中那人的邻舍呢？”他说：“是怜悯他的。”耶稣对他说：“你去，照样做吧！”

有法利赛人来问他说：“男人休妻合不合法？”意思是要试探他。
