They sent their followers to him. They sent the Herodians with them.“ Teacher,” they said,“ we know that you are a man of honor. You teach the way of God truthfully. You don’t let others tell you what to do or say. You don’t care how important they are.

And they sent their disciples to him, along with the Herodians, saying,“ Teacher, we know that you are true and teach the way of God truthfully, and you do not care about anyone’s opinion, for you are not swayed by appearances.

They sent some of their disciples, along with the supporters of Herod, to meet with him.“ Teacher,” they said,“ we know how honest you are. You teach the way of God truthfully. You are impartial and don’t play favorites.

So they sent their disciples to him, along with the Herodians.“ Teacher,” they said,“ we know that you are truthful and teach truthfully the way of God. You don’t care what anyone thinks nor do you show partiality.

And they* sent their disciples to Him, along with the Herodians, saying,“ Teacher, we know that You are truthful and teach the way of God in truth, and do not care what anyone thinks; for You are not partial to anyone.

And they sent to Him their disciples with the Herodians, saying,“ Teacher, we know that You are true, and teach the way of God in truth; nor do You care about anyone, for You do not regard the person of men.

And they sent out unto him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Master, we know that thou art true, and teachest the way of God in truth, neither carest thou for any[ man]: for thou regardest not the person of men.

Then the Pharisees went out and began to plot with the Herodians how they might kill Jesus. (niv)

“ Be careful,” Jesus warned them.“ Watch out for the yeast of the Pharisees and that of Herod.” (niv)

They came to him and said,“ Teacher, we know that you are a man of integrity. You aren’t swayed by others, because you pay no attention to who they are; but you teach the way of God in accordance with the truth. Is it right to pay the imperial tax to Caesar or not? (niv)

So the spies questioned him:“ Teacher, we know that you speak and teach what is right, and that you do not show partiality but teach the way of God in accordance with the truth. (niv)

I will show no partiality, nor will I flatter anyone;for if I were skilled in flattery, my Maker would soon take me away. (niv)

As Jesus started on his way, a man ran up to him and fell on his knees before him.“ Good teacher,” he asked,“ what must I do to inherit eternal life?” (niv)

But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. (niv)

So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. (niv)

His talk is smooth as butter, yet war is in his heart; his words are more soothing than oil, yet they are drawn swords. (niv)

Everyone lies to their neighbor; they flatter with their lips but harbor deception in their hearts. (niv)

Rather, we have renounced secret and shameful ways; we do not use deception, nor do we distort the word of God. On the contrary, by setting forth the truth plainly we commend ourselves to everyone’s conscience in the sight of God. (niv)

rebellion and treachery against the Lord, turning our backs on our God, inciting revolt and oppression, uttering lies our hearts have conceived.So justice is driven back, and righteousness stands at a distance; truth has stumbled in the streets, honesty cannot enter.Truth is nowhere to be found, and whoever shuns evil becomes a prey. The Lord looked and was displeased that there was no justice. (niv)

Those who flatter their neighbors are spreading nets for their feet. (niv)

“ You are a king, then!” said Pilate. Jesus answered,“ You say that I am a king. In fact, the reason I was born and came into the world is to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me.” (niv)

“ So I have caused you to be despised and humiliated before all the people, because you have not followed my ways but have shown partiality in matters of the law.” (niv)

Going at once to Jesus, Judas said,“ Greetings, Rabbi!” and kissed him. (niv)

Whoever speaks on their own does so to gain personal glory, but he who seeks the glory of the one who sent him is a man of truth; there is nothing false about him. (niv)

Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ. (niv)

On the contrary, we speak as those approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel. We are not trying to please people but God, who tests our hearts. (niv)

As for those who were held in high esteem— whatever they were makes no difference to me; God does not show favoritism— they added nothing to my message. (niv)

The same thing happened to the second and third brother, right on down to the seventh. (niv)

Hear this, you leaders of Jacob, you rulers of Israel, who despise justice and distort all that is right;who build Zion with bloodshed, and Jerusalem with wickedness.Her leaders judge for a bribe, her priests teach for a price, and her prophets tell fortunes for money. Yet they look for the Lord’s support and say,“ Is not the Lord among us? No disaster will come upon us.”Therefore because of you, Zion will be plowed like a field, Jerusalem will become a heap of rubble, the temple hill a mound overgrown with thickets. (niv)

How is it you don’t understand that I was not talking to you about bread? But be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”Then they understood that he was not telling them to guard against the yeast used in bread, but against the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees. Unlike so many, we do not peddle the word of God for profit. On the contrary, in Christ we speak before God with sincerity, as those sent from God. (niv)

“ As for you, son of man, your people are talking together about you by the walls and at the doors of the houses, saying to each other,‘ Come and hear the message that has come from the Lord.’My people come to you, as they usually do, and sit before you to hear your words, but they do not put them into practice. Their mouths speak of love, but their hearts are greedy for unjust gain. (niv)

“ Teacher,” they said,“ Moses told us that if a man dies without having children, his brother must marry the widow and raise up offspring for him. (niv)

But Micaiah said,“ As surely as the Lord lives, I can tell him only what the Lord tells me.” (niv)

He said of his father and mother,‘ I have no regard for them.’ He did not recognize his brothers or acknowledge his own children, but he watched over your word and guarded your covenant. (niv)
