耶和华如此说：“在拉玛听见号啕痛哭的声音，是拉结哭她儿女，不肯因她儿女受安慰，因为他们都不在了。”

万军之耶和华如此说：“你们要考虑，将唱哀歌的妇女召来，差人召善哭的妇女前来，叫她们速速为我们举哀，使我们泪眼汪汪，使我们的眼皮涌出泪水。因为有哀声从锡安传来：‘我们竟然败落！我们何等惭愧！我们撇下土地，人拆毁了我们的房屋。’”妇女们哪，当听耶和华的话，领受他口中的言语；当教导你们的女儿举哀，各人教导女伴唱哀歌。因为死亡从窗户进来，进入我们的宫殿，从外边剪除孩童，从街上剪除少年。

他们从伯特利起行，到以法他还有一段路程，拉结生产，生得十分艰难。她生得十分艰难的时候，接生婆对她说：“不要怕，你又要有一个儿子了。”她快要死，还有一口气的时候，就给她儿子起名叫便‧俄尼；他父亲却给他起名叫便雅悯。拉结死了，葬在往以法他的路旁；以法他就是伯利恒。雅各在她的坟上立了一块碑，就是拉结的墓碑，到今日还在。

我听见有仿佛妇人临产的声音，好像是生头胎疼痛的声音，原来是锡安的声音；她喘着气，伸开手：“我有祸了！在杀人者跟前，我的心灵发昏。”

他们的父亲雅各对他们说：“你们害我丧失了我的儿子：约瑟不在了，西缅也不在了，你们还要带走便雅悯！这些事都临到我身上了。”

回到他兄弟们那里，说：“孩子不在了。我往哪里去才好呢？”

他在我面前展开书卷，它内外都写着字，上面所写的有哀号、叹息、悲痛的话。

他认出来，就说：“这是我儿子的外衣，恶兽把他吃了，约瑟一定被撕碎了！”雅各就撕裂衣服，腰间围上麻布，为他儿子哀伤了多日。他的儿女都起来安慰他，他却不肯受安慰，说：“我必哀伤着下阴间，到我儿子那里。”约瑟的父亲就为他哀哭。

我观看，听见一只在空中飞的鹰大声说：“祸哉！祸哉！祸哉！地上的居民哪，其余的三位天使快要吹号了！”

但壮士一死就消逝了；人一气绝，他在何处呢？
