這是要應驗先知以賽亞的話，說：他代替我們的軟弱，擔當我們的疾病。

這就應了先知耶利米的話，說：

這事成就是要應驗先知的話，說：

若是這樣，經上所說，事情必須如此的話怎麼應驗呢？」

但這一切的事成就了，為要應驗先知書上的話。」當下，門徒都離開他，逃走了。

希律死了以後，有主的使者在埃及向約瑟夢中顯現，說：

又囑咐他們，不要給他傳名。這是要應驗先知以賽亞的話，說：看哪！我的僕人，我所揀選、所親愛、心裏所喜悅的，我要將我的靈賜給他；他必將公理傳給外邦。

到了一座城，名叫拿撒勒，就住在那裏。這是要應驗先知所說，他將稱為拿撒勒人的話了。

這是要應驗先知以賽亞的話，說：西布倫地，拿弗他利地，就是沿海的路，約旦河外，外邦人的加利利地－

耶穌對他們說：「這就是我從前與你們同在之時所告訴你們的話說：摩西的律法、先知的書，和詩篇上所記的，凡指着我的話都必須應驗。」

說：「弟兄們！聖靈藉大衛的口，在聖經上預言領人捉拿耶穌的猶大，這話是必須應驗的。

他們既將他釘在十字架上，就拈鬮分他的衣服，

那時，希律王下手苦害教會中幾個人，用刀殺了約翰的哥哥雅各。他見猶太人喜歡這事，又去捉拿彼得。那時正是除酵的日子。希律拿了彼得，收在監裏，交付四班兵丁看守，每班四個人，意思要在逾越節後把他提出來，當着百姓辦他。

希律不歸榮耀給神，所以主的使者立刻罰他，他被蟲所咬，氣就絕了。神的道日見興旺，越發廣傳。
