Jesus answered,“ If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”

Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share.In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life. Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me. (niv)

In the same way, those of you who do not give up everything you have cannot be my disciples. (niv)

All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had.With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And God’s grace was so powerfully at work in them allthat there were no needy persons among them. Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven. Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead,I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.All of us, then, who are mature should take such a view of things. And if on some point you think differently, that too God will make clear to you. (niv)

After this, Jesus went out and saw a tax collector by the name of Levi sitting at his tax booth.“ Follow me,” Jesus said to him, (niv)

As Jesus went on from there, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax collector’s booth.“ Follow me,” he told him, and Matthew got up and followed him. (niv)

“ Come, follow me,” Jesus said,“ and I will send you out to fish for people.” (niv)

Consider the blameless, observe the upright; a future awaits those who seek peace. (niv)

Then he called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said:“ Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. (niv)

When Abram was ninety- nine years old, the Lord appeared to him and said,“ I am God Almighty; walk before me faithfully and be blameless. (niv)

This is the account of Noah and his family. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God. (niv)

In the land of Uz there lived a man whose name was Job. This man was blameless and upright; he feared God and shunned evil. (niv)
