倘爾一手一足陷爾於罪、則斷而去之、寧跛與殘缺入於生、勿兩手兩足投永火、

倘爾一手一足、引爾於惡、當斫而棄之；與其手足雙全而委於無盡之火、曷若殘跛而入永生之為愈乎？

If your hand or your foot causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life maimed or crippled than to have two hands or two feet and be thrown into eternal fire.

And if thy hand or thy foot causeth thee to stumble, cut it off, and cast it from thee: it is good for thee to enter into life maimed or halt, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into the eternal fire.

Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast[ them] from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire.

凡不見錄於生命書者、亦見投於火坑、

此人必入永刑、惟義者必入永生焉、

又謂在左者曰、爾曹被詛者、可離我而入永火、乃為魔及其使者所備也、

如爾同母之兄弟、或爾子女、或爾愛妻、或爾密友、暗誘爾曰、我儕莫若往事異邦之神、此神即爾與爾祖素所未識者、即爾四周諸國之民所事之神、或離爾近、或離爾遠、自地此極至地彼極、爾毋從之、毋聽之、爾目毋顧惜之、毋矜恤之、毋隱其尤、

乃呼曰、我祖亞伯拉罕、矜恤我、遣拉撒路以指尖蘸水涼我舌、因我在此火燄中苦甚、

爾之偶像、或雕或鑄、飾以金銀者、其時爾必視為視為或作使之污穢、棄之如不潔之物、必曰、此物當擲之於外、

夜已深、晝已近、當解暗昩之行、衣光明之甲冑、

當是日人將以崇拜所製之金銀偶像、投諸鼢鼠蝙蝠之穴、主興起、震動世界、人必入於磐隙、巖穴、以避主之威嚴、及其赫赫之光耀、

初、希律為弟腓立妻希羅底故、執約翰繫於獄、蓋約翰曾諫希律曰、爾納此婦、非宜也、

以色列族歟、棄所犯之罪愆、新爾心神、何為自取死亡、
