耶稣切切地嘱咐他们，不可将这事告诉人，又说：“人子必须受许多的苦，被长老、祭司长，和文士弃绝，并且被杀，第三日复活。”

只是我告诉你们，以利亚已经来了，人却不认识他，竟任意待他。人子也将要这样受他们的害。”

她的父母惊奇得很；耶稣嘱咐他们，不要把所做的事告诉人。

耶稣说：“狐狸有洞，天空的飞鸟有窝，人子却没有枕头的地方。”

又对他们说：“照经上所写的，基督必受害，第三日从死里复活，并且人要奉他的名传悔改、赦罪的道，从耶路撒冷起直传到万邦。

耶稣对他说：“你切不可告诉人，只要去把身体给祭司察看，献上摩西所吩咐的礼物，对众人作证据。”

当下，耶稣嘱咐门徒，不可对人说他是基督。从此，耶稣才指示门徒，他必须上耶路撒冷去，受长老、祭司长、文士许多的苦，并且被杀，第三日复活。

并要鞭打他，杀害他；第三日他要复活。”这些事门徒一样也不懂得，意思乃是隐藏的；他们不晓得所说的是什么。
