“ But so that we may not cause offense, go to the lake and throw out your line. Take the first fish you catch; open its mouth and you will find a four- drachma coin. Take it and give it to them for my tax and yours.”

我诚然是自由的，不属于任何人，但我使自己成为所有人的奴仆，为了赢得更多的人。对犹太人，我就成为一个像犹太人那样的人，为了赢得犹太人；对律法之下的人，虽然我自己不在律法之下，我却成为一个像是在律法之下的人，为了赢得在律法之下的人；对没有律法的人，我就成为一个像是没有律法的人那样，为了赢得没有律法的人——对神，我不是没有律法的，而是在基督的律法之下。对软弱的人，我就成为软弱的人，为了赢得软弱的人。对什么样的人，我就成为什么样的人，一定要拯救一些人。

不过要当心，免得你们的这权利成了软弱之人的绊跌物。

我们不在任何事上给任何人跌倒的借口，免得这服事的工作被人挑剔；

因为你们知道我们主耶稣基督的恩典：他虽然富足，却为你们成了贫穷，好使你们藉着他的贫穷可以成为富足。

不在吃肉、喝酒、或其他事上使你的弟兄绊倒，这才是好的。

所以，如果食物使我的弟兄绊倒，我就绝不吃肉直到永远，免得使我的弟兄绊倒。

天空的鸟、海里的鱼，以及所有游在海中之路的。

我们坚强的人，应该担当不坚强人的软弱，不求自己的喜悦。我们每个人当为了邻人的益处让他喜悦，使他得造就。因为基督不但不求自己的喜悦，反而像经上所记的：“那些责骂你之人的责骂，都落在我身上了。”

那时，门徒们前来对他说：“法利赛人听了这话很反感，你知道吗？”耶稣回答说：“凡不是我天父所栽种的，都将被连根拔起。随他们吧！他们是给瞎子领路的瞎子。如果瞎子给瞎子领路，两个人都会掉进坑里。”

耶和华指派了一条大鱼吞掉约拿；约拿在那鱼的肚腹中三天三夜。

神祝福他们，又对他们说：“要繁衍增多，充满大地，并要管辖这地；也要管理海里的鱼、天空的飞鸟，以及在地上活动的一切生物。”

无论对犹太人、对外邦人，或对神的教会，你们都不可成为绊跌物；要像我那样，也在一切事上使所有的人喜悦——不求自己的益处，而求多人的益处，好让他们都能得救。

我亲爱的弟兄们，请听！神难道不是拣选了世上的那些贫穷人，使他们在信仰上富有，并且做他国度的继承人吗？这国度是他应许给爱他之人的。

后来，耶和华吩咐那条鱼，鱼就把约拿吐在陆地上。

连一切恶的样式都要远避。

耶稣自己里面知道他的门徒们为这话私下议论，就对他们说：“这话绊倒你们吗？

你使他暂时比天使低微；你赐他荣耀和尊贵为冠冕；你使万有都服从在他的脚下。”既然神使万有都服从他，就没有留下一样不服从他；但如今，我们还没有看见万有都服从他。

你自己要在一切事上做出美好工作的榜样；教导的时候要正直、庄重，要用无可指责的健全话语，使反对的人在我们的事上因没有坏话可说，就感到羞愧。
