Some Jews who went around driving out evil spirits tried to invoke the name of the Lord Jesus over those who were demon- possessed. They would say,“ In the name of the Jesus whom Paul preaches, I command you to come out.”Seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, were doing this.One day the evil spirit answered them,“ Jesus I know, and Paul I know about, but who are you?” (niv)

Moreover, demons came out of many people, shouting,“ You are the Son of God!” But he rebuked them and would not allow them to speak, because they knew he was the Messiah. (niv)

For Jesus had said to him,“ Come out of this man, you impure spirit!” (niv)

For Jesus had commanded the impure spirit to come out of the man. Many times it had seized him, and though he was chained hand and foot and kept under guard, he had broken his chains and had been driven by the demon into solitary places. (niv)

and Jesus healed many who had various diseases. He also drove out many demons, but he would not let the demons speak because they knew who he was. (niv)

When he inquired as to the time when his son got better, they said to him,“ Yesterday, at one in the afternoon, the fever left him.”Then the father realized that this was the exact time at which Jesus had said to him,“ Your son will live.” So he and his whole household believed. (niv)

She kept this up for many days. Finally Paul became so annoyed that he turned around and said to the spirit,“ In the name of Jesus Christ I command you to come out of her!” At that moment the spirit left her. (niv)

Then Jesus said to her,“ Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted.” And her daughter was healed at that moment. (niv)

Then they brought him a demon-possessed man who was blind and mute, and Jesus healed him, so that he could both talk and see. (niv)

“ Be quiet!” Jesus said sternly.“ Come out of him!” Then the demon threw the man down before them all and came out without injuring him.All the people were amazed and said to each other,“ What words these are! With authority and power he gives orders to impure spirits and they come out!” (niv)

Even while the boy was coming, the demon threw him to the ground in a convulsion. But Jesus rebuked the impure spirit, healed the boy and gave him back to his father. (niv)
