And they said to Him,“ We have here only five loaves and two fish.”He said,“ Bring them here to Me.”Then He commanded the multitudes to sit down on the grass. And He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, He blessed and broke and gave the loaves to the disciples; and the disciples gave to the multitudes.So they all ate and were filled, and they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments that remained.Now those who had eaten were about five thousand men, besides women and children.

“ There is a lad here who has five barley loaves and two small fish, but what are they among so many?”Then Jesus said,“ Make the people sit down.” Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand.And Jesus took the loaves, and when He had given thanks He distributed them to the disciples, and the disciples to those sitting down; and likewise of the fish, as much as they wanted.So when they were filled, He said to His disciples,“ Gather up the fragments that remain, so that nothing is lost.”Therefore they gathered them up, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves which were left over by those who had eaten.

But He said to them,“ You give them something to eat.” And they said,“ We have no more than five loaves and two fish, unless we go and buy food for all these people.”For there were about five thousand men. Then He said to His disciples,“ Make them sit down in groups of fifty.”And they did so, and made them all sit down.Then He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, He blessed and broke them, and gave them to the disciples to set before the multitude.So they all ate and were filled, and twelve baskets of the leftover fragments were taken up by them.

Then He said to them,“ O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken!Ought not the Christ to have suffered these things and to enter into His glory?”And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself.

So Jesus said,“ Are you also still without understanding?Do you not yet understand that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and is eliminated?

But He said to them,“ How many loaves do you have? Go and see.” And when they found out they said,“ Five, and two fish.”Then He commanded them to make them all sit down in groups on the green grass.So they sat down in ranks, in hundreds and in fifties.And when He had taken the five loaves and the two fish, He looked up to heaven, blessed and broke the loaves, and gave them to His disciples to set before them; and the two fish He divided among them all.So they all ate and were filled.And they took up twelve baskets full of fragments and of the fish.Now those who had eaten the loaves were about five thousand men.

So He said to them,“ Are you thus without understanding also? Do you not perceive that whatever enters a man from outside cannot defile him,

As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent.
