nor to occupy themselves with myths and interminable genealogies. Such things promote useless speculations rather than God’s redemptive plan that operates by faith.

Let no one who delights in humility and the worship of angels pass judgment on you. That person goes on at great lengths about what he has supposedly seen, but he is puffed up with empty notions by his fleshly mind.He has not held fast to the head from whom the whole body, supported and knit together through its ligaments and sinews, grows with a growth that is from God.If you have died with Christ to the elemental spirits of the world, why do you submit to them as though you lived in the world?“ Do not handle! Do not taste! Do not touch!”These are all destined to perish with use, founded as they are on human commands and teachings.

Do not be carried away by all sorts of strange teachings. For it is good for the heart to be strengthened by grace, not ritual meals, which have never benefited those who participated in them.

Every word of God is purified; he is like a shield for those who take refuge in him.Do not add to his words, lest he reprove you, and prove you to be a liar.

By pointing out such things to the brothers and sisters, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, having nourished yourself on the words of the faith and of the good teaching that you have followed.But reject those myths fit only for the godless and gullible, and train yourself for godliness.

( 13: 1) You must be careful to do everything I am commanding you. Do not add to it or subtract from it!

I testify to the one who hears the words of the prophecy contained in this book: If anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book.

Surely people go through life as mere ghosts. Surely they accumulate worthless wealth without knowing who will eventually haul it away.”

and by which you are being saved, if you hold firmly to the message I preached to you– unless you believed in vain.
