夫情慾之事、亦顯而易見也；凡姦非污濁、淫蕩奢侈、拜偶像、行巫術、仇恨爭競、好勝忿怒朋比釁隙、迷惑異端、嫉妒殘殺、沉醉荒宴等類皆是。吾夙已言之、今復鄭重相告、凡行此等事者、必不得承受天主之國也。

蓋惡念皆自人之內心而發、如姦淫苟合、殺人、穿窬、貪婪、乖戾、欺詐、邪色、嫉妒、訕主、驕傲、狂妄、凡此一切邪惡、莫非發自內心、而浼人者也。』

勿訕謗勿爭競。待人接物、務宜心氣和平、寬裕溫柔、蓋吾人從前亦昏昧悖逆、徬徨岐途、縱情恣慾、險狠媢嫉；己實可惡、而轉以惡人。惟吾救主天主大發慈悲、不視人之行為、一惟彼之仁愛、藉重生之洗禮、賜吾人以救拔；因聖神之妙工、予吾人以復新。而天主之所以沛然以聖神傾注於吾人之心者、實以我救主耶穌基督之功。

如有人為誘惑所苦、勿曰為天主所誘；夫天主純善、不能被誘於惡、詎能誘人於惡？人之見誘、皆受其自身情欲之煽惑勾引；情慾孕而罪孽生、罪孽長成、死亡隨之。

正如經云：『茫茫寰海裏、竟無一介仁；亦無智慧子想與主相親。紛紛入歧途、溷濁如垢塵；欲求為善者、舉世無一人。』又云：『舌端弄詭譎、咽喉如荒墓；唇內藏辛螫、口中含咒詛；流血逞捷足、殘虐鋪其路；心昧和平道、目無造化主。』夫法之所言、所以昭示法內之人、亦所以塞夫人之口、而使舉世皆服罪於天主之前也。

故當痛悔、虔求天主、一念之錯或可望赦。

二三其德。我所痛疾。吾愛大法。惟精惟一。

吾知寓吾肉身之內者、實無片善可稱也。為善之願、未始無有；而為善之力、則未能有也。

曩者爾等本已死於罪孽之中、與世俗同流合污、聽命於塵氛中之魔王。魔王者、即至今猶在悖逆心中活動之邪神也。吾輩過去亦在悖逆之列、縱情恣慾、為所欲為、原屬觸怒之子、與外邦人為一丘之貉。

無他、蓋順於欲者、則逆於天主；如此自不甘服天主之法、且亦不能。故凡體欲之情者、必不能取悅於天主也。
