从巴力·沙利沙来了一个人，他带了二十个用初熟大麦做的饼和一些麦穗送给上帝的仆人。上帝的仆人说：“分给众人吃吧。”仆人说：“这些怎么够一百人吃呢？”以利沙说：“你只管分给众人吃。因为耶和华说，‘众人都能吃饱，并且还会剩下。’”于是，仆人将食物摆在众人面前，他们都吃饱了，果然还有剩余，正如耶和华所言。

当把你的资财分给多人，因为你不知道日后会有什么灾难临到世上。

各人心里想捐多少就捐多少，不要勉强，不要为难。因为捐得甘心乐意的人才是上帝所喜爱的。上帝能够将各样的恩典多多赐给你们，使你们在各方面常常富足有余，可以多行各样的善事。

我何曾拒绝穷人的请求，或使寡妇眼露失望之情，或独吞我的食物，不与孤儿同享？

有人乐善好施，反倒越来越富；有人一毛不拔，反而越来越穷。

因为犹大是管钱的，有人以为耶稣是叫他去买过节的用品，或者去周济穷人。

他们虽然遭遇极大的患难，受尽熬炼，却充满了喜乐，在极度贫穷的情况下仍然十分慷慨乐捐。我可以证明，他们是甘心乐意，尽其所能地捐助，甚至超过了自己的能力。

约翰回答说：“有两件衣服的，应当分一件给没有的；食物充裕的，应当分些给饥饿的。”
