Then it says,‘ I will return to the house I left.’ When it arrives, it finds the house unoccupied, swept clean and put in order.

曰、我將歸所出之室、至、則見其闃寂、掃除、修飾矣、

曰、我將歸所出之室、至、則見其室闃寂、掃除修飾、

乃曰、不如我仍歸所出之室、既至、則見其室空虛、掃除修飾、

則曰：「我將返我故宅。」比至、見其室空空、掃除整潔、粉飾煥然；

Then it says,‘ I will return to the person I came from.’ So it returns and finds its former home empty, swept, and in order.

Then it says,‘ I’ll go back to my house that I came from.’ Returning, it finds the house vacant, swept, and put in order.

Then it says,‘ I will return to my house from which I came’; and when it comes, it finds it unoccupied, swept, and put in order.

Then he says,‘ I will return to my house from which I came.’ And when he comes, he finds it empty, swept, and put in order.

Then he saith, I will return into my house whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished.

Then it says,‘ I’ll go back to my house that I came from.’ And returning, it finds the house vacant, swept, and put in order.

Then it says,‘ I will return to the home I left.’ When it returns, it finds the house empty, swept clean, and put in order.

in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient.

He did not say this because he cared about the poor but because he was a thief; as keeper of the money bag, he used to help himself to what was put into it.

He will use all sorts of displays of power through signs and wonders that serve the lie,and all the ways that wickedness deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved.For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lieand so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness.

For certain individuals whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord.Though you already know all this, I want to remind you that the Lord at one time delivered his people out of Egypt, but later destroyed those who did not believe.

Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction.For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.

“ But my people would not listen to me; Israel would not submit to me.So I gave them over to their stubborn hearts to follow their own devices.

Now a man named Ananias, together with his wife Sapphira, also sold a piece of property.With his wife’s full knowledge he kept back part of the money for himself, but brought the rest and put it at the apostles’ feet.Then Peter said,“ Ananias, how is it that Satan has so filled your heart that you have lied to the Holy Spirit and have kept for yourself some of the money you received for the land?

When Simon saw that the Spirit was given at the laying on of the apostles’ hands, he offered them moneyand said,“ Give me also this ability so that everyone on whom I lay my hands may receive the Holy Spirit.”Peter answered:“ May your money perish with you, because you thought you could buy the gift of God with money!You have no part or share in this ministry, because your heart is not right before God.Repent of this wickedness and pray to the Lord in the hope that he may forgive you for having such a thought in your heart.For I see that you are full of bitterness and captive to sin.”

All inhabitants of the earth will worship the beast— all whose names have not been written in the Lamb’s book of life, the Lamb who was slain from the creation of the world.Whoever has ears, let them hear.

As soon as Judas took the bread, Satan entered into him. So Jesus told him,“ What you are about to do, do quickly.”

The seed falling on rocky ground refers to someone who hears the word and at once receives it with joy.But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away.The seed falling among the thorns refers to someone who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, making it unfruitful.

No doubt there have to be differences among you to show which of you have God’s approval.

“ When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own house, his possessions are safe.But when someone stronger attacks and overpowers him, he takes away the armor in which the man trusted and divides up his plunder.

Their hearts are like an oven; they approach him with intrigue. Their passion smolders all night; in the morning it blazes like a flaming fire.

They went out from us, but they did not really belong to us. For if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us; but their going showed that none of them belonged to us.

“ Or again, how can anyone enter a strong man’s house and carry off his possessions unless he first ties up the strong man? Then he can plunder his house.
