耶穌對曰：『以邪惡不淑之世代、而求靈徵、除先知若納之靈徵、更無他徵可授。

一个邪恶、淫乱的世代会寻求神迹，可是除了约拿的神迹以外，不会有神迹赐给它了。”然后耶稣就离开他们走了。

那时，人群越聚越多，耶稣就开始说：“这世代是个邪恶的世代，它在寻求神迹；可是除了约拿的神迹以外，不会有神迹赐给它了。就是说，约拿怎样成了对尼尼微人的一个神迹，人子也将照样成为对这世代的一个神迹。在审判的时候，南方的女王将要与这世代的人一起复活，并且要定他们的罪，因为她从极远的地方来，要听所罗门智慧的话语。看，比所罗门更大的就在这里！在审判的时候，尼尼微人将要与这世代一起复活，并且要定这世代的罪，因为尼尼微人因着约拿的传道就悔改了。看，比约拿更大的就在这里！

你们这些淫乱的人哪！难道你们不知道，与世界为友，就是与神为敌吗？所以，如果有人想要和世界做朋友，他就成了神的仇敌！

“至于你们这些巫婆的子孙，奸夫和妓女的种子，近前来到这里吧！

在这淫乱、罪恶的世代，一个人如果以我和我的话为耻，当人子在他父的荣耀中，与圣天使们一起来临的时候，也要以这个人为耻。”
