Then they brought him a demon-possessed man who was blind and mute, and Jesus healed him, so that he could both talk and see.

A man controlled by demons was brought to Jesus. The man was blind and could not speak. Jesus healed him. Then the man could speak and see.

And his ears were opened, his tongue was released, and he spoke plainly.And Jesus charged them to tell no one. But the more he charged them, the more zealously they proclaimed it.And they were astonished beyond measure, saying,“ He has done all things well. He even makes the deaf hear and the mute speak.”

to open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.’

And whenever the unclean spirits saw him, they fell down before him and cried out,“ You are the Son of God.”

So his fame spread throughout all Syria, and they brought him all the sick, those afflicted with various diseases and pains, those oppressed by demons, those having seizures, and paralytics, and he healed them.

Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf unstopped;then shall the lame man leap like a deer, and the tongue of the mute sing for joy. For waters break forth in the wilderness, and streams in the desert;

As they were going away, behold, a demon-oppressed man who was mute was brought to him.And when the demon had been cast out, the mute man spoke. And the crowds marveled, saying,“ Never was anything like this seen in Israel.”But the Pharisees said,“ He casts out demons by the prince of demons.”

O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth will declare your praise.

Then the eyes of those who see will not be closed, and the ears of those who hear will give attention.The heart of the hasty will understand and know, and the tongue of the stammerers will hasten to speak distinctly.

And someone from the crowd answered him,“ Teacher, I brought my son to you, for he has a spirit that makes him mute.And whenever it seizes him, it throws him down, and he foams and grinds his teeth and becomes rigid. So I asked your disciples to cast it out, and they were not able.”And he answered them,“ O faithless generation, how long am I to be with you? How long am I to bear with you? Bring him to me.”And they brought the boy to him. And when the spirit saw him, immediately it convulsed the boy, and he fell on the ground and rolled about, foaming at the mouth.And Jesus asked his father,“ How long has this been happening to him?” And he said,“ From childhood.And it has often cast him into fire and into water, to destroy him. But if you can do anything, have compassion on us and help us.”And Jesus said to him,“‘ If you can’! All things are possible for one who believes.”Immediately the father of the child cried out and said,“ I believe; help my unbelief!”And when Jesus saw that a crowd came running together, he rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it,“ You mute and deaf spirit, I command you, come out of him and never enter him again.”And after crying out and convulsing him terribly, it came out, and the boy was like a corpse, so that most of them said,“ He is dead.”
