and a man with a shriveled hand was there. Looking for a reason to bring charges against Jesus, they asked him,“ Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?”

A man with a weak and twisted hand was there. The Pharisees were trying to accuse Jesus of a crime. So they asked him,“ Does the Law allow us to heal on the Sabbath day?”

where he noticed a man with a deformed hand. The Pharisees asked Jesus,“ Does the law permit a person to work by healing on the Sabbath?”( They were hoping he would say yes, so they could bring charges against him.)

There he saw a man who had a shriveled hand, and in order to accuse him they asked him,“ Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?”

And a man was there whose hand was withered. And they questioned Jesus, asking,“ Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?”— so that they might bring charges against Him.

Some of the Pharisees said,“ This man is not from God, for he does not keep the Sabbath.” But others said,“ How can a man who is a sinner do such signs?” And there was a division among them.

Tell us, then, what you think. Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?”But Jesus, aware of their malice, said,“ Why put me to the test, you hypocrites?

So the Jews said to the man who had been healed,“ It is the Sabbath, and it is not lawful for you to take up your bed.”

This they said to test him, that they might have some charge to bring against him. Jesus bent down and wrote with his finger on the ground.

lying in wait for him, to catch him in something he might say.

“ Woe to my worthless shepherd, who deserts the flock! May the sword strike his arm and his right eye! Let his arm be wholly withered, his right eye utterly blinded!”

And when the king heard the saying of the man of God, which he cried against the altar at Bethel, Jeroboam stretched out his hand from the altar, saying,“ Seize him.” And his hand, which he stretched out against him, dried up, so that he could not draw it back to himself.The altar also was torn down, and the ashes poured out from the altar, according to the sign that the man of God had given by the word of the Lord.And the king said to the man of God,“ Entreat now the favor of the Lord your God, and pray for me, that my hand may be restored to me.” And the man of God entreated the Lord, and the king’s hand was restored to him and became as it was before.

But when the Pharisees saw it, they said to him,“ Look, your disciples are doing what is not lawful to do on the Sabbath.”

And they began to accuse him, saying,“ We found this man misleading our nation and forbidding us to give tribute to Caesar, and saying that he himself is Christ, a king.”

No one enters suit justly; no one goes to law honestly; they rely on empty pleas, they speak lies, they conceive mischief and give birth to iniquity.

On another Sabbath, he entered the synagogue and was teaching, and a man was there whose right hand was withered.And the scribes and the Pharisees watched him, to see whether he would heal on the Sabbath, so that they might find a reason to accuse him.

In these lay a multitude of invalids— blind, lame, and paralyzed.

transgressing, and denying the Lord, and turning back from following our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart lying words.

Is it lawful for us to give tribute to Caesar, or not?”

and said to them,“ You brought me this man as one who was misleading the people. And after examining him before you, behold, I did not find this man guilty of any of your charges against him.

And Jesus responded to the lawyers and Pharisees, saying,“ Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath, or not?”But they remained silent. Then he took him and healed him and sent him away.And he said to them,“ Which of you, having a son or an ox that has fallen into a well on a Sabbath day, will not immediately pull him out?”And they could not reply to these things.

For the fool speaks folly, and his heart is busy with iniquity, to practice ungodliness, to utter error concerning the Lord, to leave the craving of the hungry unsatisfied, and to deprive the thirsty of drink.

And Pharisees came up to him and tested him by asking,“ Is it lawful to divorce one’s wife for any cause?”
