Blessed is anyone who does not stumble on account of me.”

And he added,“ God blesses those who do not fall away because of me.”

and blessed is the one who isn’t offended by me.”

And blessed is any person who does not take offense at Me.”

And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me.”

And blessed is he, whosoever shall find no occasion of stumbling in me.

And if anyone is not offended because of Me, he is blessed.”

And blessed is[ he], whosoever shall not be offended in me.

Blessed is anyone who takes no offense at me.”

Blessed is he who finds no occasion for stumbling in me.”

The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned.

And he said to them,“ Doubtless you will quote to me this proverb,‘“ Physician, heal yourself.” What we have heard you did at Capernaum, do here in your hometown as well.’”And he said,“ Truly, I say to you, no prophet is acceptable in his hometown.But in truth, I tell you, there were many widows in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the heavens were shut up three years and six months, and a great famine came over all the land,and Elijah was sent to none of them but only to Zarephath, in the land of Sidon, to a woman who was a widow.And there were many lepers in Israel in the time of the prophet Elisha, and none of them was cleansed, but only Naaman the Syrian.”When they heard these things, all in the synagogue were filled with wrath.And they rose up and drove him out of the town and brought him to the brow of the hill on which their town was built, so that they could throw him down the cliff.

And he will become a sanctuary and a stone of offense and a rock of stumbling to both houses of Israel, a trap and a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.And many shall stumble on it. They shall fall and be broken; they shall be snared and taken.”

Then Jesus said to them,“ You will all fall away because of me this night. For it is written,‘ I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’

And then many will fall away and betray one another and hate one another.

After this many of his disciples turned back and no longer walked with him.

For Jews demand signs and Greeks seek wisdom,but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and folly to Gentiles,

Others said,“ This is the Christ.” But some said,“ Is the Christ to come from Galilee?Has not the Scripture said that the Christ comes from the offspring of David, and comes from Bethlehem, the village where David was?”

As he said these things, a woman in the crowd raised her voice and said to him,“ Blessed is the womb that bore you, and the breasts at which you nursed!”But he said,“ Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it!”

But if I, brothers, still preach circumcision, why am I still being persecuted? In that case the offense of the cross has been removed.

Blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.Blessed is the man against whom the Lord counts no iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no deceit.

Then the disciples came and said to him,“ Do you know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this saying?”He answered,“ Every plant that my heavenly Father has not planted will be rooted up.Let them alone; they are blind guides. And if the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit.”

And Simeon blessed them and said to Mary his mother,“ Behold, this child is appointed for the fall and rising of many in Israel, and for a sign that is opposed

Why? Because they did not pursue it by faith, but as if it were based on works. They have stumbled over the stumbling stone,as it is written,“ Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense; and whoever believes in him will not be put to shame.”

Is not this the carpenter’s son? Is not his mother called Mary? And are not his brothers James and Joseph and Simon and Judas?And are not all his sisters with us? Where then did this man get all these things?”And they took offense at him. But Jesus said to them,“ A prophet is not without honor except in his hometown and in his own household.”

and“ A stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense.” They stumble because they disobey the word, as they were destined to do.

Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers;but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night.

“ Woe to the world for temptations to sin! For it is necessary that temptations come, but woe to the one by whom the temptation comes!

Blessed are those whose way is blameless, who walk in the law of the Lord!

When many of his disciples heard it, they said,“ This is a hard saying; who can listen to it?”But Jesus, knowing in himself that his disciples were grumbling about this, said to them,“ Do you take offense at this?
