“ Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Then Jesus said,“ Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.

Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

Now on the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying,“ If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink.

It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery.

Everything that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I certainly will not cast out.

“ You there! Everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; And you who have no money come, buy and eat. Come, buy wine and milk Without money and without cost.Why do you spend money for what is not bread, And your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, And delight yourself in abundance.Incline your ear and come to Me. Listen, that you may live; And I will make an everlasting covenant with you, According to the faithful mercies shown to David.

With what shall I come to the Lord And bow myself before the God on high? Shall I come to Him with burnt offerings, With yearling calves?Does the Lord take pleasure in thousands of rams, In ten thousand rivers of oil? Shall I give Him my firstborn for my wrongdoings, The fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?He has told you, mortal one, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you But to do justice, to love kindness, And to walk humbly with your God?

The Spirit and the bride say,“ Come.” And let the one who hears say,“ Come.” And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who desires, take the water of life without cost.

For My hand made all these things, So all these things came into being,” declares the Lord.“ But I will look to this one, At one who is humble and contrite in spirit, and who trembles at My word.

This is what the Lord says:“ Stand by the ways and see and ask for the ancient paths, Where the good way is, and walk in it; Then you will find a resting place for your souls. But they said,‘ We will not walk in it.’

This is what the Lord says, He who is your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel:“ I am the Lord your God, who teaches you to benefit, Who leads you in the way you should go.If only you had paid attention to My commandments! Then your well being would have been like a river, And your righteousness like the waves of the sea.

Turn to Me and be saved, all the ends of the earth; For I am God, and there is no other.I have sworn by Myself; The word has gone out from My mouth in righteousness And will not turn back, That to Me every knee will bow, every tongue will swear allegiance.They will say of Me,‘ Only in the Lord are righteousness and strength.’ People will come to Him, And all who were angry at Him will be put to shame.In the Lord all the offspring of Israel Will be justified and will boast.”

And they tie up heavy burdens and lay them on people’s shoulders, but they themselves are unwilling to move them with so much as their finger.

Return to your rest, my soul, For the Lord has dealt generously with you.

Then on that day The nations will resort to the root of Jesse, Who will stand as a signal flag for the peoples; And His resting place will be glorious.

For my guilty deeds have gone over my head; Like a heavy burden they weigh too much for me.

For what does a person get in all his labor and in his striving with which he labors under the sun?Because all his days his activity is painful and irritating; even at night his mind does not rest. This too is futility.

All things are wearisome; No one can tell it. The eye is not satisfied with seeing, Nor is the ear filled with hearing.

He who said to them,“ This is the place of quiet, give rest to the weary,” And,“ This is the resting place,” but they would not listen.

For He grew up before Him like a tender shoot, And like a root out of dry ground; He has no stately form or majesty That we would look at Him, Nor an appearance that we would take pleasure in Him.He was despised and abandoned by men, A man of great pain and familiar with sickness; And like one from whom people hide their faces, He was despised, and we had no regard for Him.

and to give relief to you who are afflicted, along with us, when the Lord Jesus will be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels

To grant those who mourn in Zion, Giving them a garland instead of ashes, The oil of gladness instead of mourning, The cloak of praise instead of a disheartened spirit. So they will be called oaks of righteousness, The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.

For I joyfully agree with the law of God in the inner person,but I see a different law in the parts of my body waging war against the law of my mind, and making me a prisoner of the law of sin, the law which is in my body’s parts.Wretched man that I am! Who will set me free from the body of this death?Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, on the one hand I myself with my mind am serving the law of God, but on the other, with my flesh the law of sin.

Therefore, we must fear if, while a promise remains of entering His rest, any one of you may seem to have come short of it.

Then to Adam He said,“ Because you have listened to the voice of your wife, and have eaten from the tree about which I commanded you, saying,‘ You shall not eat from it’; Cursed is the ground because of you; With hard labor you shall eat from it All the days of your life.Both thorns and thistles it shall grow for you; Yet you shall eat the plants of the field;By the sweat of your face You shall eat bread, Until you return to the ground, Because from it you were taken; For you are dust, And to dust you shall return.”

For we have been consumed by Your anger, And we have been terrified by Your wrath.You have placed our guilty deeds before You, Our hidden sins in the light of Your presence.For all our days have dwindled away in Your fury; We have finished our years like a sigh.As for the days of our life, they contain seventy years, Or if due to strength, eighty years, Yet their pride is only trouble and tragedy; For it quickly passes, and we disappear.

There was a man without a dependent, having neither a son nor a brother, yet there was no end to all his labor. Indeed, his eyes were not satisfied with riches, and he never asked,“ And for whom do I labor and deprive myself of pleasure?” This too is futility, and it is an unhappy task.

Since this is the case, why are you putting God to the test by placing upon the neck of the disciples a yoke which neither our forefathers nor we have been able to bear?

Oh, sinful nation, People weighed down with guilt, Offspring of evildoers, Sons who act corruptly! They have abandoned the Lord, They have despised the Holy One of Israel, They have turned away from Him.

So that You may grant him relief from the days of adversity, Until a pit is dug for the wicked.

For day and night Your hand was heavy upon me; My vitality failed as with the dry heat of summer. Selah

I have seen all the works which have been done under the sun, and behold, all is futility and striving after wind.

“ Man, who is born of woman, Is short lived and full of turmoil.

For man is born for trouble, As sparks fly upward.
