Righteous Father, even if the world does not know you, I know you, and these men know that you sent me.I made known your name to them, and I will continue to make it known, so that the love you have loved me with may be in them, and I may be in them.”

just as the Father knows me and I know the Father– and I lay down my life for the sheep.

We know that we are from God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us insight to know him who is true, and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. This one is the true God and eternal life.

Everyone who denies the Son does not have the Father either. The person who confesses the Son has the Father also.

( Not that anyone has seen the Father except the one who is from God– he has seen the Father.)

The Father loves the Son and has placed all things under his authority.

so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow– in heaven and on earth and under the earth–and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father.

but I know him, because I have come from him and he sent me.”

No one has ever seen God. The only one, himself God, who is in closest fellowship with the Father, has made God known.

just as you have given him authority over all humanity, so that he may give eternal life to everyone you have given him.Now this is eternal life– that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you sent.

“ I have revealed your name to the men you gave me out of the world. They belonged to you, and you gave them to me, and they have obeyed your word.

Because Jesus knew that the Father had handed all things over to him, and that he had come from God and was going back to God,

For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, so also the Son gives life to whomever he wishes.Furthermore, the Father does not judge anyone, but has assigned all judgment to the Son,so that all people will honor the Son just as they honor the Father. The one who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him.“ I tell you the solemn truth, the one who hears my message and believes the one who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned, but has crossed over from death to life.I tell you the solemn truth, a time is coming– and is now here– when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live.For just as the Father has life in himself, thus he has granted the Son to have life in himself,and he has granted the Son authority to execute judgment, because he is the Son of Man.“ Do not be amazed at this, because a time is coming when all who are in the tombs will hear his voiceand will come out– the ones who have done what is good to the resurrection resulting in life, and the ones who have done what is evil to the resurrection resulting in condemnation.

You put all things under his control.” For when he put all things under his control, he left nothing outside of his control. At present we do not yet see all things under his control,but we see Jesus, who was made lower than the angels for a little while, now crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death, so that by God’s grace he would experience death on behalf of everyone.For it was fitting for him, for whom and through whom all things exist, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the pioneer of their salvation perfect through sufferings.

who went into heaven and is at the right hand of God with angels and authorities and powers subject to him.

This power he exercised in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realmsfar above every rule and authority and power and dominion and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come.And God put all things under Christ’s feet, and he gave him to the church as head over all things.Now the church is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all.

For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet.The last enemy to be eliminated is death.For he has put everything in subjection under his feet. But when it says“ everything” has been put in subjection, it is clear that this does not include the one who put everything in subjection to him.
