They will be called oaks of righteousness, trees planted by the LORD to reveal his splendor.

You are my friends if you do what I command you.

He began to teach in their synagogues and was praised by all.Now Jesus came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, as was his custom. He stood up to read,and the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was given to him. He unrolled the scroll and found the place where it was written,“ The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and the regaining of sight to the blind, to set free those who are oppressed,to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”Then he rolled up the scroll, gave it back to the attendant, and sat down. The eyes of everyone in the synagogue were fixed on him.Then he began to tell them,“ Today this scripture has been fulfilled even as you heard it being read.”

Some time afterward he went on through towns and villages, preaching and proclaiming the good news of the kingdom of God. The twelve were with him,

For you know what commands we gave you through the Lord Jesus.

Jesus went throughout all of Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of disease and sickness among the people.

He replied,“ Let us go elsewhere, into the surrounding villages, so that I can preach there too. For that is what I came out here to do.”So he went into all of Galilee preaching in their synagogues and casting out demons.

Then Jesus went throughout all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every kind of disease and sickness.

If you obey my commandments, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father’s commandments and remain in his love.

He commanded us to preach to the people and to warn them that he is the one appointed by God as judge of the living and the dead.

until the day he was taken up to heaven, after he had given orders by the Holy Spirit to the apostles he had chosen.

But we command you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to keep away from any brother who lives an undisciplined life and not according to the tradition they received from us.

teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

When Jesus finished saying these things, the crowds were amazed by his teaching,

to obey this command without fault or failure until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ
