But then he heard that Archelaus was king of Judea. Archelaus was ruling in place of his father Herod. This made Joseph afraid to go there. Joseph had been warned in a dream. So he went back to the land of Galilee instead.

The angel of the Lord appeared to Manoah’s wife. He said,“ You are not able to have children. But you are going to become pregnant. You will have a baby boy.

I was very worried. But your comfort brought me joy.

How long will you wander, my people Israel, who are not faithful to me? I will create a new thing on earth. The woman will return to the man.”

Lord, you will give perfect peace to those who commit themselves to be faithful to you. That’s because they trust in you.

The plans of godly people are right. But the advice of sinners will lead you the wrong way.

The Lord is honest and good. He teaches sinners to walk in his ways.He shows those who aren’t proud how to do what is right. He teaches them his ways.

There were shepherds living out in the fields nearby. It was night, and they were taking care of their sheep.An angel of the Lord appeared to them. And the glory of the Lord shone around them. They were terrified.But the angel said to them,“ Do not be afraid. I bring you good news. It will bring great joy for all the people.Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you.
