“ Remember the law of my servant Moses, the decrees and laws I gave him at Horeb for all Israel.

“ Remember the law my servant Moses gave you. Remember the rules and laws I gave him at Mount Horeb. They were for the whole nation of Israel.

“ Remember the law of my servant Moses, the statutes and rules that I commanded him at Horeb for all Israel.

“ Remember to obey the Law of Moses, my servant— all the decrees and regulations that I gave him on Mount Sinai for all Israel.

“ Remember the instruction of Moses my servant, the statutes and ordinances I commanded him at Horeb for all Israel.

the day that thou stoodest before Jehovah thy God in Horeb, when Jehovah said unto me, Assemble me the people, and I will make them hear my words, that they may learn to fear me all the days that they live upon the earth, and that they may teach their children.

And they that are of Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with the passions and the lusts thereof.If we live by the Spirit, by the Spirit let us also walk.

but if ye have respect of persons, ye commit sin, being convicted by the law as transgressors.For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is become guilty of all.For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou dost not commit adultery, but killest, thou art become a transgressor of the law.So speak ye, and so do, as men that are to be judged by a law of liberty.For judgment is without mercy to him that hath showed no mercy: mercy glorieth against judgment.

For ye, brethren, were called for freedom; only use not your freedom for an occasion to the flesh, but through love be servants one to another.For the whole law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.

Thou shalt have no other gods before me.Thou shalt not make unto thee a graven image, nor any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them, for I Jehovah thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, upon the third and upon the fourth generation of them that hate me,and showing lovingkindness unto thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments.Thou shalt not take the name of Jehovah thy God in vain; for Jehovah will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work;but the seventh day is a sabbath unto Jehovah thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy man- servant, nor thy maid- servant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:for in six days Jehovah made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore Jehovah blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.Honor thy father and thy mother, that thy days may be long in the land which Jehovah thy God giveth thee.Thou shalt not kill.Thou shalt not commit adultery.Thou shalt not steal.Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s wife, nor his man- servant, nor his maid- servant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor anything that is thy neighbor’s.And all the people perceived the thunderings, and the lightnings, and the voice of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking: and when the people saw it, they trembled, and stood afar off.And they said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear; but let not God speak with us, lest we die.And Moses said unto the people, Fear not: for God is come to prove you, and that his fear may be before you, that ye sin not.And the people stood afar off, and Moses drew near unto the thick darkness where God was.

Think not that I came to destroy the law or the prophets: I came not to destroy, but to fulfil.For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass away from the law, till all things be accomplished.Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.For I say unto you, that except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no wise enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Let every soul be in subjection to the higher powers: for there is no power but of God; and the powers that be are ordained of God.Therefore he that resisteth the power, withstandeth the ordinance of God: and they that withstand shall receive to themselves judgment.For rulers are not a terror to the good work, but to the evil. And wouldest thou have no fear of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise from the same:for he is a minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is a minister of God, an avenger for wrath to him that doeth evil.Wherefore ye must needs be in subjection, not only because of the wrath, but also for conscience’ sake.For for this cause ye pay tribute also; for they are ministers of God’s service, attending continually upon this very thing.Render to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honor to whom honor.Owe no man anything, save to love one another: for he that loveth his neighbor hath fulfilled the law.For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not covet, and if there be any other commandment, it is summed up in this word, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.Love worketh no ill to his neighbor: love therefore is the fulfilment of the law.

But Abraham saith, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one go to them from the dead, they will repent.And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, if one rise from the dead.

Now these are the ordinances which thou shalt set before them.If thou buy a Hebrew servant, six years he shall serve: and in the seventh he shall go out free for nothing.If he come in by himself, he shall go out by himself: if he be married, then his wife shall go out with him.If his master give him a wife and she bear him sons or daughters; the wife and her children shall be her master’s, and he shall go out by himself.But if the servant shall plainly say, I love my master, my wife, and my children; I will not go out free:then his master shall bring him unto God, and shall bring him to the door, or unto the door- post; and his master shall bore his ear through with an awl; and he shall serve him for ever.And if a man sell his daughter to be a maid- servant, she shall not go out as the men- servants do.If she please not her master, who hath espoused her to himself, then shall he let her be redeemed: to sell her unto a foreign people he shall have no power, seeing he hath dealt deceitfully with her.And if he espouse her unto his son, he shall deal with her after the manner of daughters.If he take him another wife; her food, her raiment, and her duty of marriage, shall he not diminish.And if he do not these three things unto her, then shall she go out for nothing, without money.He that smiteth a man, so that he dieth, shall surely be put to death.And if a man lie not in wait, but God deliver him into his hand; then I will appoint thee a place whither he shall flee.And if a man come presumptuously upon his neighbor, to slay him with guile; thou shalt take him from mine altar, that he may die.And he that smiteth his father, or his mother, shall be surely put to death.And he that stealeth a man, and selleth him, or if he be found in his hand, he shall surely be put to death.And he that curseth his father or his mother, shall surely be put to death.And if men contend, and one smite the other with a stone, or with his fist, and he die not, but keep his bed;if he rise again, and walk abroad upon his staff, then shall he that smote him be quit: only he shall pay for the loss of his time, and shall cause him to be thoroughly healed.And if a man smite his servant, or his maid, with a rod, and he die under his hand; he shall surely be punished.Notwithstanding, if he continue a day or two, he shall not be punished: for he is his money.And if men strive together, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart, and yet no harm follow; he shall be surely fined, according as the woman’s husband shall lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine.But if any harm follow, then thou shalt give life for life,

And behold, a certain lawyer stood up and made trial of him, saying, Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?And he said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou?And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbor as thyself.And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.

And one of the scribes came, and heard them questioning together, and knowing that he had answered them well, asked him, What commandment is the first of all?Jesus answered, The first is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God, the Lord is one:and thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength.The second is this, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.And the scribe said unto him, Of a truth, Teacher, thou hast well said that he is one; and there is none other but he:and to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbor as himself, is much more than all whole burnt- offerings and sacrifices.And when Jesus saw that he answered discreetly, he said unto him, Thou art not far from the kingdom of God. And no man after that durst ask him any question.

Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?And he said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.This is the great and first commandment.And a second like unto it is this, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.On these two commandments the whole law hangeth, and the prophets.

Do we then make the law of none effect through faith? God forbid: nay, we establish the law.

It pleased Jehovah, for his righteousness’ sake, to magnify the law, and make it honorable.

And behold, one came to him and said, Teacher, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?And he said unto him, Why askest thou me concerning that which is good? One there is who is good: but if thou wouldest enter into life, keep the commandments.He saith unto him, Which? And Jesus said, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,Honor thy father and thy mother; and, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.The young man saith unto him, All these things have I observed: what lack I yet?Jesus said unto him, If thou wouldest be perfect, go, sell that which thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.But when the young man heard the saying, he went away sorrowful; for he was one that had great possessions.

To the law and to the testimony! if they speak not according to this word, surely there is no morning for them.

Ye search the scriptures, because ye think that in them ye have eternal life; and these are they which bear witness of me;and ye will not come to me, that ye may have life.I receive not glory from men.But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in yourselves.I am come in my Father’s name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.How can ye believe, who receive glory one of another, and the glory that cometh from the only God ye seek not?Think not that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, on whom ye have set your hope.For if ye believed Moses, ye would believe me; for he wrote of me.But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?

And Jehovah called unto Moses, and spake unto him out of the tent of meeting, saying,Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When any man of you offereth an oblation unto Jehovah, ye shall offer your oblation of the cattle, even of the herd and of the flock.If his oblation be a burnt- offering of the herd, he shall offer it a male without blemish: he shall offer it at the door of the tent of meeting, that he may be accepted before Jehovah.And he shall lay his hand upon the head of the burnt- offering; and it shall be accepted for him to make atonement for him.And he shall kill the bullock before Jehovah: and Aaron’s sons, the priests, shall present the blood, and sprinkle the blood round about upon the altar that is at the door of the tent of meeting.And he shall flay the burnt- offering, and cut it into its pieces.And the sons of Aaron the priest shall put fire upon the altar, and lay wood in order upon the fire;

He showeth his word unto Jacob, His statutes and his ordinances unto Israel.He hath not dealt so with any nation; And as for his ordinances, they have not known them. Praise ye Jehovah.

Behold, I have taught you statutes and ordinances, even as Jehovah my God commanded me, that ye should do so in the midst of the land whither ye go in to possess it.Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the peoples, that shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.
