但现在的天地，还是因着同样的话可以存留，直到不敬虔的人受审判和遭灭亡的日子，用火焚烧。

看哪！他们必像碎秸，火必要焚烧他们；他们不能救自己脱离火焰的威力；这不是可以烤火取暖的火炭，也不是可以坐在它面前的火。

雅各家必成为火，约瑟家必成为火焰；以扫家却像碎秸，被它们焚烧吞灭，以扫家再没有生还的人了。因为耶和华已经说了。

因此，火舌怎样吞灭碎秸，干草怎样落在火焰之中，照样，他们的根必像腐朽之物，他们的花必像尘土飞扬；因为他们弃绝万军之耶和华的训诲，藐视以色列圣者的话。

因为万军之耶和华必有一日，要攻击一切骄傲的、狂妄的，和所有高抬自己的，他们都要降卑。又要攻击黎巴嫩所有高大的香柏树，和巴珊所有的橡树。又攻击所有的高山，和所有的峻岭；攻击每一个高台，和每一道坚固的城墙；攻击所有他施的船只，和所有美丽的船。人的高傲必变为谦虚，人的狂妄都必降为卑微，在那日，唯独耶和华被高举。

他下面的根枯干，上面的枝子凋谢。

在耶和华发怒的日子，他们的金银也不能救他们，全地都要被他的妒火吞灭；因为他要彻底毁灭地上所有的居民，真是可怕的毁灭。

“当你们看见耶路撒冷被军队围困的时候，就知道它荒凉的日子近了。

他们像缠结着的荆棘，像喝醉了的酒徒，又像枯干的禾秸，全都被吞灭了。

看哪！耶和华的日子快到，人要在你中间分取你的掠物。

耶和华的大日子临近了，临近了，来得非常快速。听！耶和华的日子的声音。在那日，勇士要哀痛地号叫。

那时，你们就要再看出义人与恶人、事奉神的人和不事奉他的人之间有什么分别。”

日子将到，你的仇敌必筑垒攻击你，周围环绕你，四面困住你，

大山在他面前震动，小山也都融化；大地在他面前废去，世界和所有住在世上的，也都这样。在他盛怒之下，谁能站得住呢？他的烈怒谁能受得了呢？他的忿怒像火一般喷出来，磐石在他面前都崩裂了。

“看哪！在耶和华大而可畏的日子来到以先，我必差派以利亚先知到你们那里去。

他手里拿着簸箕，要扬净麦场，把麦子收进仓里，却用不灭的火把糠秕烧尽。”

太阳将变为黑暗，月亮将变为血红。在耶和华伟大可畏的日子临到以前，这一切都要发生。

你们要在锡安吹号，并在我的圣山发出警讯，让国中所有的居民都战栗，因为耶和华的日子快到，必然临近了。

你以莫大的威荣，毁灭了那些起来攻击你的人；你发出烈怒，把他们烧灭像烧禾秸一样。

“‘看哪，这日子到了！灾害已经发出，杖已经开花，狂傲已经发芽。

世上所有的恶人，你都把他们除灭，如同除去渣滓，因此我喜爱你的法度。

谁从东方激动了一个人，凭公义把他召到自己的脚前来？他把列国交在他面前，他制伏众王；他使他们在他的刀下化作灰尘，他使他们在他的弓下像碎秸一样被吹散。

我不是在他们面前把亚摩利人消灭了吗？亚摩利人虽像香柏树高大，像橡树那样坚固；我却要灭绝它树上的果子，拔除树下的根。

他们才刚刚栽上，刚刚种上，他们的树头刚刚在地里扎根，他一吹在其上，他们就枯干了，旋风把他们像碎秸一样吹去。

你出现的时候，就要使他们像炽热的火炉；耶和华必在他的震怒中吞灭他们，火必烧灭他们。你必从地上除灭他们的子孙，从人间除灭他们的后裔。
