Therefore have I also made you contemptible and base before all the people, according as ye have not kept my ways, but have had respect of persons in the law.

因爾未守我道、在於法律、偏以待人、故我使爾成為可厭、眾民所鄙、○

不從我道、偏視我法、故我使眾、藐視爾曹、

爾不守我道、傳律法時、偏視不公、偏視不公或作瞻徇情面故我亦使爾為眾民所輕藐、視為卑賤、○

“ So I have caused you to be despised and humiliated before all the people, because you have not followed my ways but have shown partiality in matters of the law.”

“ So I have caused all the people to hate you. They have lost respect for you. You have not done what I told you to do. Instead, you have favored one person over another in matters of the law.”

and so I make you despised and abased before all the people, inasmuch as you do not keep my ways but show partiality in your instruction.”

“ So I have made you despised and humiliated in the eyes of all the people. For you have not obeyed me but have shown favoritism in the way you carry out my instructions.”

“ So I in turn have made you despised and humiliated before all the people because you are not keeping my ways but are showing partiality in your instruction.”

“ So I also have made you despised and of low reputation in the view of all the people, since you are not keeping My ways but are showing partiality in the instruction.”

“ Therefore I also have made you contemptible and base Before all the people, Because you have not kept My ways But have shown partiality in the law.”

“ So I in turn have made you despised and humiliated before all the people because you are not keeping My ways but are showing partiality in your instruction.”

Therefore have I also made you contemptible and base before all the people, according as ye have not kept my ways, but have been partial in the law.

“ Therefore, I have caused you to be ignored and belittled before all people to the extent to which you are not following after me and are showing partiality in your instruction.”

“ Therefore I have also made you contemptible and wicked before all the people, according to the way you have not kept my ways, but have had respect for persons in the law.

Therefore Jehovah, the God of Israel, saith, I said indeed that thy house, and the house of thy father, should walk before me for ever: but now Jehovah saith, Be it far from me; for them that honor me I will honor, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed.

And Micaiah said, If thou return at all in peace, Jehovah hath not spoken by me. And he said, Hear, ye peoples, all of you.

Therefore it shall be night unto you, that ye shall have no vision; and it shall be dark unto you, that ye shall not divine; and the sun shall go down upon the prophets, and the day shall be black over them.And the seers shall be put to shame, and the diviners confounded; yea, they shall all cover their lips; for there is no answer of God.

Your kerchiefs also will I tear, and deliver my people out of your hand, and they shall be no more in your hand to be hunted; and ye shall know that I am Jehovah.

Ye shall not respect persons in judgment; ye shall hear the small and the great alike; ye shall not be afraid of the face of man; for the judgment is God’s: and the cause that is too hard for you ye shall bring unto me, and I will hear it.

But from those who were reputed to be somewhat( whatsoever they were, it maketh no matter to me: God accepteth not man’s person)— they, I say, who were of repute imparted nothing to me:

Ye have heard that it was said, Thou shalt not commit adultery:but I say unto you, that every one that looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

But woe unto you Pharisees! for ye tithe mint and rue and every herb, and pass over justice and the love of God: but these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

Lo, when the wall is fallen, shall it not be said unto you, Where is the daubing wherewith ye have daubed it?Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: I will even rend it with a stormy wind in my wrath; and there shall be an overflowing shower in mine anger, and great hailstones in wrath to consume it.So will I break down the wall that ye have daubed with untempered mortar, and bring it down to the ground, so that the foundation thereof shall be uncovered; and it shall fall, and ye shall be consumed in the midst thereof: and ye shall know that I am Jehovah.Thus will I accomplish my wrath upon the wall, and upon them that have daubed it with untempered mortar; and I will say unto you, The wall is no more, neither they that daubed it;to wit, the prophets of Israel that prophesy concerning Jerusalem, and that see visions of peace for her, and there is no peace, saith the Lord Jehovah.

And he said unto him, Why askest thou me concerning that which is good? One there is who is good: but if thou wouldest enter into life, keep the commandments.He saith unto him, Which? And Jesus said, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,

But he, desiring to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbor?

And in the hearing of all the people he said unto his disciples,Beware of the scribes, who desire to walk in long robes, and love salutations in the marketplaces, and chief seats in the synagogues, and chief places at feasts;who devour widows’ houses, and for a pretence make long prayers: these shall receive greater condemnation.

Ye leave the commandment of God, and hold fast the tradition of men.And he said unto them, Full well do ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your tradition.For Moses said, Honor thy father and thy mother; and, He that speaketh evil of father or mother, let him die the death:but ye say, If a man shall say to his father or his mother, That wherewith thou mightest have been profited by me is Corban, that is to say, Given to God;ye no longer suffer him to do aught for his father or his mother;making void the word of God by your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things ye do.And he called to him the multitude again, and said unto them, Hear me all of you, and understand:

Send to all them of the captivity, saying, Thus saith Jehovah concerning Shemaiah the Nehelamite: Because that Shemaiah hath prophesied unto you, and I sent him not, and he hath caused you to trust in a lie;therefore thus saith Jehovah, Behold, I will punish Shemaiah the Nehelamite, and his seed; he shall not have a man to dwell among this people, neither shall he behold the good that I will do unto my people, saith Jehovah, because he hath spoken rebellion against Jehovah.

Ye have heard that it was said, Thou shalt love thy neighbor, and hate thine enemy:but I say unto you, Love your enemies, and pray for them that persecute you;

Again, ye have heard that it was said to them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths:but I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by the heaven, for it is the throne of God;nor by the earth, for it is the footstool of his feet; nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King.Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, for thou canst not make one hair white or black.But let your speech be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: and whatsoever is more than these is of the evil one.

What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Howbeit, I had not known sin, except through the law: for I had not known coveting, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet:but sin, finding occasion, wrought in me through the commandment all manner of coveting: for apart from the law sin is dead.And I was alive apart from the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died;and the commandment, which was unto life, this I found to be unto death:

Hear ye therefore the word of Jehovah, all ye of the captivity, whom I have sent away from Jerusalem to Babylon.Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel, concerning Ahab the son of Kolaiah, and concerning Zedekiah the son of Maaseiah, who prophesy a lie unto you in my name: Behold, I will deliver them into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon; and he shall slay them before your eyes;and of them shall be taken up a curse by all the captives of Judah that are in Babylon, saying, Jehovah make thee like Zedekiah and like Ahab, whom the king of Babylon roasted in the fire;

Ye have heard that it was said to them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:but I say unto you, that every one who is angry with his brother shall be in danger of the judgment; and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council; and whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of the hell of fire.

Behold, I will rebuke your seed, and will spread dung upon your faces, even the dung of your feasts; and ye shall be taken away with it.

And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.And they that are wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.

But ye are turned aside out of the way; ye have caused many to stumble in the law; ye have corrupted the covenant of Levi, saith Jehovah of hosts.

Woe unto you, ye blind guides, that say, Whosoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debtor.Ye fools and blind: for which is greater, the gold, or the temple that hath sanctified the gold?And, Whosoever shall swear by the altar, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gift that is upon it, he is a debtor.Ye blind: for which is greater, the gift, or the altar that sanctifieth the gift?He therefore that sweareth by the altar, sweareth by it, and by all things thereon.And he that sweareth by the temple, sweareth by it, and by him that dwelleth therein.And he that sweareth by the heaven, sweareth by the throne of God, and by him that sitteth thereon.Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye tithe mint and anise and cummin, and have left undone the weightier matters of the law, justice, and mercy, and faith: but these ye ought to have done, and not to have left the other undone.Ye blind guides, that strain out the gnat, and swallow the camel!

Then said the prophet Jeremiah unto Hananiah the prophet, Hear now, Hananiah: Jehovah hath not sent thee; but thou makest this people to trust in a lie.Therefore thus saith Jehovah, Behold, I will send thee away from off the face of the earth: this year thou shalt die, because thou hast spoken rebellion against Jehovah.

The memory of the righteous is blessed; But the name of the wicked shall rot.
