“ For the man who does not love his wife but divorces her, says the Lord, the God of Israel, covers his garment with violence, says the Lord of hosts. So guard yourselves in your spirit, and do not be faithless.”

“ The man who hates and divorces his wife,” says the Lord, the God of Israel,“ does violence to the one he should protect,” says the Lord Almighty. So be on your guard, and do not be unfaithful.

“ Suppose a man hates and divorces his wife,” says the Lord God of Israel.“ Then he is harming the one he should protect,” says the Lord who rules over all. So be careful. And don’t be unfaithful.

“ For I hate divorce!” says the Lord, the God of Israel.“ To divorce your wife is to overwhelm her with cruelty,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.“ So guard your heart; do not be unfaithful to your wife.”

“ If he hates and divorces his wife,” says the LORD God of Israel,“ he covers his garment with injustice,” says the LORD of Armies. Therefore, watch yourselves carefully, and do not act treacherously.

“ For I hate divorce,” says the Lord, the God of Israel,“ and him who covers his garment with violence,” says the Lord of armies.“ So be careful about your spirit, that you do not deal treacherously.”

“ For the Lord God of Israel says That He hates divorce, For it covers one’s garment with violence,” Says the Lord of hosts.“ Therefore take heed to your spirit, That you do not deal treacherously.”

For I hate putting away, saith Jehovah, the God of Israel, and him that covereth his garment with violence, saith Jehovah of hosts: therefore take heed to your spirit, that ye deal not treacherously.

“ I hate divorce,” says the LORD God of Israel,“ and the one who is guilty of violence,” says the LORD who rules over all.“ Pay attention to your conscience, and do not be unfaithful.”

One who hates and divorces”, says Yahweh, the God of Israel,“ covers his garment with violence!” says Yahweh of Armies.“ Therefore pay attention to your spirit, that you don’t be unfaithful.

“ Everyone who divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery, and he who marries a woman divorced from her husband commits adultery.

“ It was also said,‘ Whoever divorces his wife, let him give her a certificate of divorce.’But I say to you that everyone who divorces his wife, except on the ground of sexual immorality, makes her commit adultery, and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery.

And Pharisees came up to him and tested him by asking,“ Is it lawful to divorce one’s wife for any cause?”He answered,“ Have you not read that he who created them from the beginning made them male and female,and said,‘ Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’?So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.”They said to him,“ Why then did Moses command one to give a certificate of divorce and to send her away?”He said to them,“ Because of your hardness of heart Moses allowed you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it was not so.And I say to you: whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery.”

And Pharisees came up and in order to test him asked,“ Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?”He answered them,“ What did Moses command you?”They said,“ Moses allowed a man to write a certificate of divorce and to send her away.”And Jesus said to them,“ Because of your hardness of heart he wrote you this commandment.But from the beginning of creation,‘ God made them male and female.’‘ Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife,and the two shall become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two but one flesh.What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.”And in the house the disciples asked him again about this matter.And he said to them,“ Whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery against her,and if she divorces her husband and marries another, she commits adultery.”

Thus says the Lord:“ Where is your mother’s certificate of divorce, with which I sent her away? Or which of my creditors is it to whom I have sold you? Behold, for your iniquities you were sold, and for your transgressions your mother was sent away.

Whoever conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy.

Their webs will not serve as clothing; men will not cover themselves with what they make. Their works are works of iniquity, and deeds of violence are in their hands.

“ When a man takes a wife and marries her, if then she finds no favor in his eyes because he has found some indecency in her, and he writes her a certificate of divorce and puts it in her hand and sends her out of his house, and she departs out of his house,and if she goes and becomes another man’s wife,and the latter man hates her and writes her a certificate of divorce and puts it in her hand and sends her out of his house, or if the latter man dies, who took her to be his wife,then her former husband, who sent her away, may not take her again to be his wife, after she has been defiled, for that is an abomination before the Lord. And you shall not bring sin upon the land that the Lord your God is giving you for an inheritance.

The godly has perished from the earth, and there is no one upright among mankind; they all lie in wait for blood, and each hunts the other with a net.Their hands are on what is evil, to do it well; the prince and the judge ask for a bribe, and the great man utters the evil desire of his soul; thus they weave it together.

For the bed is too short to stretch oneself on, and the covering too narrow to wrap oneself in.
