“看哪，日子将到，我必砍下你的膀臂和你父家的膀臂，使你家中没有一个老年人。当以色列在各方面蒙福的时候，你却要看到我居所的危难；你家中永远不再有老年人。你家中没被我从祭坛前剪除的人，必使你的眼睛衰竭、心里忧伤；而所有你家中增添的人，都死于壮年。那将要临到你两个儿子何弗尼和非尼哈的事，就是给你的征兆：他们二人将在同一天死去。

至于那些宰杀公牛也击杀人的，祭献羔羊也打断狗脖子的，献上供物也献上猪血的，烧乳香作记念祭也颂赞偶像的——他们都选择自己的道路，他们的心喜悦自己那些可憎之事；

因为我耶和华喜爱公正，恨恶抢夺和不义；我必凭着信实给他们酬报，与他们立永远的约。

所以耶和华必在一日之内，从以色列中剪除头和尾，剪除棕枝和芦苇——长老和尊贵人就是头，指教虚谎之事的先知就是尾。因为引导这百姓的使他们迷失，而被引导的都陷入混乱。

撒母耳说：“耶和华喜悦燔祭和祭物，难道与喜悦人听从耶和华的话等同吗？看哪，听从胜过献祭，听命胜过公绵羊的脂油；要知道，悖逆如同占卜的罪，顽梗就像拜偶像的恶。你既然厌弃耶和华的话，耶和华也厌弃你作王。”

看哪！耶和华使大地空废，变得荒凉；又使地面扭曲，使地上的居民四散。那时，百姓怎样，祭司也怎样；仆人怎样，主人也怎样；婢女怎样，主母也怎样；购买的怎样，贩卖的也怎样；借给人的怎样，向人借的也怎样；放债的怎样，借债的也怎样。

随他们吧！他们是给瞎子领路的瞎子。如果瞎子给瞎子领路，两个人都会掉进坑里。”

而恶人和迷惑人的会越来越坏，他们迷惑人，自己也被迷惑。

万军之耶和华说：“真希望你们中间有人关上殿门，以免你们在我祭坛上徒然点火！我不喜悦你们，也不从你们的手中悦纳供物。

但那兽被抓了；那假先知也与它一起被抓了——他在兽面前行了许多奇迹，藉此迷惑那些接受兽的印记并膜拜兽像的人。兽和那假先知两个都活生生地被丢进燃烧着硫磺的火湖里。

因此我向以利家起了誓：‘以利家的罪孽是永远不能用祭物或供物来赎清的。’”
