Thy terribleness hath deceived thee,[ and] the pride of thine heart, O thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, that holdest the height of the hill: though thou shouldest make thy nest as high as the eagle, I will bring thee down from thence, saith the LORD.Also Edom shall be a desolation: every one that goeth by it shall be astonished, and shall hiss at all the plagues thereof.As in the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah and the neighbour[ cities] thereof, saith the LORD, no man shall abide there, neither shall a son of man dwell in it.

And I will make Jerusalem heaps,[ and] a den of dragons; and I will make the cities of Judah desolate, without an inhabitant.

For, behold, I[ am] for you, and I will turn unto you, and ye shall be tilled and sown:

Therefore thou shalt devour men no more, neither bereave thy nations any more, saith the Lord GOD.Neither will I cause[ men] to hear in thee the shame of the heathen any more, neither shalt thou bear the reproach of the people any more, neither shalt thou cause thy nations to fall any more, saith the Lord GOD.

And Babylon shall become heaps, a dwellingplace for dragons, an astonishment, and an hissing, without an inhabitant.

If any[ man] come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.

But I have made Esau bare, I have uncovered his secret places, and he shall not be able to hide himself: his seed is spoiled, and his brethren, and his neighbours, and he[ is] not.

And the streams thereof shall be turned into pitch, and the dust thereof into brimstone, and the land thereof shall become burning pitch.It shall not be quenched night nor day; the smoke thereof shall go up for ever: from generation to generation it shall lie waste; none shall pass through it for ever and ever.But the cormorant and the bittern shall possess it; the owl also and the raven shall dwell in it: and he shall stretch out upon it the line of confusion, and the stones of emptiness.They shall call the nobles thereof to the kingdom, but none[ shall be] there, and all her princes shall be nothing.And thorns shall come up in her palaces, nettles and brambles in the fortresses thereof: and it shall be an habitation of dragons,[ and] a court for owls.The wild beasts of the desert shall also meet with the wild beasts of the island, and the satyr shall cry to his fellow; the screech owl also shall rest there, and find for herself a place of rest.

But wild beasts of the desert shall lie there; and their houses shall be full of doleful creatures; and owls shall dwell there, and satyrs shall dance there.And the wild beasts of the islands shall cry in their desolate houses, and dragons in[ their] pleasant palaces: and her time[ is] near to come, and her days shall not be prolonged.

If a man have two wives, one beloved, and another hated, and they have born him children,[ both] the beloved and the hated; and[ if] the firstborn son be hers that was hated:Then it shall be, when he maketh his sons to inherit[ that] which he hath,[ that] he may not make the son of the beloved firstborn before the son of the hated,[ which is indeed] the firstborn:

Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; I have lifted up mine hand, Surely the heathen that[ are] about you, they shall bear their shame.

And the house of Jacob shall be a fire, and the house of Joseph a flame, and the house of Esau for stubble, and they shall kindle in them, and devour them; and there shall not be[ any] remaining of the house of Esau; for the LORD hath spoken[ it].And[ they of] the south shall possess the mount of Esau; and[ they of] the plain the Philistines: and they shall possess the fields of Ephraim, and the fields of Samaria: and Benjamin[ shall possess] Gilead.And the captivity of this host of the children of Israel[ shall possess] that of the Canaanites,[ even] unto Zarephath; and the captivity of Jerusalem, which[ is] in Sepharad, shall possess the cities of the south.And saviours shall come up on mount Zion to judge the mount of Esau; and the kingdom shall be the LORD’S.

Thus will I make mount Seir most desolate, and cut off from it him that passeth out and him that returneth.And I will fill his mountains with his slain[ men]: in thy hills, and in thy valleys, and in all thy rivers, shall they fall that are slain with the sword.

And he went in also unto Rachel, and he loved also Rachel more than Leah, and served with him yet seven other years.And when the LORD saw that Leah[ was] hated, he opened her womb: but Rachel[ was] barren.
