希律说：“约翰我已经斩了，这却是什么人？我竟听见他这样的事呢？”就想要见他。

希律说：“约翰已经被我斩首，这个行奇事的人到底是谁呢？”于是他想见耶稣。

希律说：“约翰已经斩头了，但这是谁，我怎么会听到他这些事呢？”就设法要见他。

但希律却说：“我已经砍了约翰的头，而这个人又是谁呢？我竟听到关于他这样的事！”于是希律就想要见他。

希律說：「約翰我已經斬了，這卻是甚麼人？我竟聽見他這樣的事呢？」就想要見他。

希律說：「約翰已經被我斬首，這個行奇事的人到底是誰呢？」於是他想見耶穌。

希律說：“約翰已經斬頭了，但這是誰，我怎麼會聽到他這些事呢？”就設法要見他。

希律卻說，『約翰、我已經斬首了；這個人呢、我聽見他這樣的事的、到底是誰？』就想法子要見耶穌。

但希律卻說：「我已經砍了約翰的頭，而這個人又是誰呢？我竟聽到關於他這樣的事！」於是希律就想要見他。

希律曰、約翰我已斬之、今所聞如此、斯人果誰耶、遂欲見之、○

希律曰、約翰我已斬之矣、今又聞此、斯何人歟、遂欲見之、○

希律曰、約翰我已斬之矣、今我聞斯人行此諸事、果為誰乎、遂欲見之、○

而希祿則曰：『如望已為予所斬矣、則今茲所聞者、果何人耶？』意欲一睹其人。

But Herod said,“ I beheaded John. Who, then, is this I hear such things about?” And he tried to see him.

But Herod said,“ I had John’s head cut off. So who is it that I hear such things about?” And he tried to see Jesus.

Herod said,“ John I beheaded, but who is this about whom I hear such things?” And he sought to see him.

“ I beheaded John,” Herod said,“ so who is this man about whom I hear such stories?” And he kept trying to see him.

“ I beheaded John,” Herod said,“ but who is this I hear such things about?” And he wanted to see him.

Herod said,“ I myself had John beheaded; but who is this man about whom I hear such things?” And he kept trying to see Him.

Herod said,“ John I have beheaded, but who is this of whom I hear such things?” So he sought to see Him.

And Herod said, John I beheaded: but who is this, about whom I hear such things? And he sought to see him.

“ I beheaded John,” Herod said,“ but who is this I hear such things about?” And he wanted to see Him.

And Herod said, John have I beheaded: but who is this, of whom I hear such things? And he desired to see him.

Herod said,“ I had John beheaded, but who is this about whom I hear such things?” So Herod wanted to learn about Jesus.

Herod said,“ I beheaded John, but who is this about whom I hear such things?” He sought to see him.

When Herod saw Jesus, he was greatly pleased, because for a long time he had been wanting to see him. From what he had heard about him, he hoped to see him perform a sign of some sort. (niv)

At that time some Pharisees came to Jesus and said to him,“ Leave this place and go somewhere else. Herod wants to kill you.”He replied,“ Go tell that fox,‘ I will keep on driving out demons and healing people today and tomorrow, and on the third day I will reach my goal.’ (niv)
