When Jesus perceived their hostile thoughts, he said to them,“ Why are you raising objections within yourselves?

I, the LORD, probe into people’s minds. I examine people’s hearts. I deal with each person according to how he has behaved. I give them what they deserve based on what they have done.

And no creature is hidden from God, but everything is naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must render an account.

Now we know that you know everything and do not need anyone to ask you anything. Because of this we believe that you have come from God.”

You know when I sit down and when I get up; even from far away you understand my motives.

When Jesus saw their reaction he said,“ Why do you respond with evil in your hearts?

Then little children were brought to him for him to lay his hands on them and pray. But the disciples scolded those who brought them.But Jesus said,“ Let the little children come to me and do not try to stop them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”And he placed his hands on them and went on his way.

Furthermore, I will strike her followers with a deadly disease, and then all the churches will know that I am the one who searches minds and hearts. I will repay each one of you what your deeds deserve.

Jesus said a third time,“ Simon, son of John, do you love me?” Peter was distressed that Jesus asked him a third time,“ Do you love me?” and said,“ Lord, you know everything. You know that I love you.” Jesus replied,“ Feed my sheep.

He called a child, had him stand among them,and said,“ I tell you the truth, unless you turn around and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven!Whoever then humbles himself like this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

He did not need anyone to testify about man, for he knew what was in man.

Now when the Pharisee who had invited him saw this, he said to himself,“ If this man were a prophet, he would know who and what kind of woman this is who is touching him, that she is a sinner.”So Jesus answered him,“ Simon, I have something to say to you.” He replied,“ Say it, Teacher.”

Brothers and sisters, do not be children in your thinking. Instead, be infants in evil, but in your thinking be mature.

So get rid of all evil and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander.And yearn like newborn infants for pure, spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up to salvation,

But when Jesus saw this, he was indignant and said to them,“ Let the little children come to me and do not try to stop them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.I tell you the truth, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child will never enter it.”
