道成为肉身，住在我们中间，充满了恩典和真理。我们见过祂的荣耀，正是父独一儿子的荣耀。

祂祷告完后，便起身回到门徒那里，看见他们因忧愁而疲惫地睡着了，就说：“你们为什么睡觉呢？要起来祷告，以免陷入诱惑！”

“太阳不再作你白昼的光，月亮也不再给你光辉，因为耶和华要作你永远的光，你的上帝要成为你的荣耀。

“父啊！我在哪里，愿你赐给我的人也在哪里，好让他们看见你赐给我的荣耀，因为在创世以前你已经爱我了。

耶稣回到三个门徒那里，见他们都睡着了，就对彼得说：“难道你们不能跟我一同警醒一时吗？你们要警醒祷告，免得陷入诱惑。你们的心灵虽然愿意，肉体却很软弱。”祂第二次去祷告说：“我父啊！如果我非喝此杯不可，愿你的旨意成就。”祂回来时见他们又睡着了，因为他们困得眼皮发沉。

接着，我听见他说话的声音，一听见他的声音，我便俯伏在地上昏睡过去。

摩西说：“求你向我彰显你的荣耀。”耶和华说：“我必叫你看见我一切的美善，我要在你面前宣告我的名——耶和华，我要恩待谁就恩待谁，我要怜悯谁就怜悯谁。但你不能看我的脸，因为凡看见的，都不能存活。你要站在我旁边的磐石上，我的荣耀经过你面前的时候，我会先把你安置在石缝里，用我的手遮掩你，直到我从你面前走过。然后我会收回我的手，你就可以看见我的背，但看不到我的脸。”

他们必见上帝的面，上帝的名字必印在他们的额上。再没有黑夜，也不需要灯光和阳光，因为主上帝必做他们的光。他们要执掌王权直到永永远远。

我们从前告诉你们有关主耶稣基督的大能和祂降临的事，并非根据巧妙虚构的神话，而是我们亲眼见过祂的威荣。

起来，发光吧！因为你的光已经来到，耶和华的荣耀已经照在你身上。看啊，黑暗遮盖大地，幽暗笼罩万民，但耶和华必照耀你，祂的荣耀必照在你身上。万国要来就你的光，君王要来就你的曙光。
