耶穌諭眾曰：『人欲從予、務宜克己、日負其十字架、而隨予後。

Then he said to them all:“ Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.

Then he said to all of them,“ Whoever wants to follow me must say no to themselves. They must pick up their cross every day and follow me.

And he said to all,“ If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.

Then he said to the crowd,“ If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross daily, and follow me.

Then he said to them all,“ If anyone wants to follow after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow me.

And He was saying to them all,“ If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow Me.

Then He said to them all,“ If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.

And he said unto all, If any man would come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

不負其十字架、而追踵於我者、非吾徒也。自保其生者、失之；惟為我捨生者、得之。

『人來從予、而不甘舍其父母妻子昆弟姊妹、乃至其生命者、不得為吾徒。凡不負其十字架、以從予者、亦不得為吾徒。

更謂眾及門徒曰：『人欲從予、必先舍己、負其十字架而隨我後。欲救其生者、將喪其生；為予及福音而舍其生者、終必獲生。人雖富有天下、苟失其生、亦有何益？且更將以何物易其生乎？處此淫邪之世、而以吾及吾道為恥者、人子佩聖父榮光、偕聖天神降臨之日、亦必以其人為可恥也。』

爾如從欲、取死之道也。存神去欲、得生之道也。

終為一粒、既化則結實累累矣。惜其生者失其生、惟在世不惜其生者、能保之以達永生。人欲事我、宜亦步亦趨、追踵於我、庶幾我之所詣、吾僕亦克詣焉。人能事我、父必榮之。

吾人既受其教、自應痛絕邪妄之人欲。立身處世、寧靜淡泊、孳孳為善、

故應將一切卑污之心事、置諸死地，凡淫亂、卑污、邪情、惡慾、貪孌、莫非崇拜偶像之變相、

凡真心奉事基督耶穌、而實踐其道者、靡有不遭受危難迫辱。

伯鐸祿挽而諫之曰：『主、萬無此理、願此事之莫臨爾身也。』耶穌顧謂伯鐸祿曰：『沙殫退去！汝為我梗。汝但體人情、不體天意。』乃諭諸徒曰：『人欲從予、必須克己、負其十字架、而追隨予後。凡惜其生者、失之；惟為予而捨其生者、得之；

且吾儕之臨危蹈難、不遑寧息、所為何事乎？兄弟乎、爾等非我在耶穌基督身上之光榮乎？吾敢憑斯光榮而誓曰：我實無日不處死地。
