耶稣又教导众人说：“如果有人要跟从我，就应当舍己，天天背起他的十字架跟从我。

耶穌諭眾曰：『人欲從予、務宜克己、日負其十字架、而隨予後。

Then he said to them all:“ Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.

Then he said to all of them,“ Whoever wants to follow me must say no to themselves. They must pick up their cross every day and follow me.

And he said to all,“ If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.

Then he said to the crowd,“ If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross daily, and follow me.

Then he said to them all,“ If anyone wants to follow after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow me.

And He was saying to them all,“ If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow Me.

Then He said to them all,“ If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.

And he said unto all, If any man would come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

He said to all,“ If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.

不肯背起他的十字架跟从我的人不配做我的门徒。试图保全自己生命的反而会失去生命，但为我舍弃生命的反而会得到生命。

“若有人要跟从我，就要爱我胜过爱他的父母、妻子、儿女、弟兄、姊妹，甚至自己的生命，否则就不能做我的门徒。若不背起自己的十字架跟从我，就不能做我的门徒。

祂叫众人和门徒一起过来，对他们说：“如果有人要跟从我，就应当舍己，背起他的十字架跟从我。因为想救自己生命的，必失去生命；但为了我和福音而失去生命的，必得到生命。人就是赚得全世界，却丧失自己的生命，又有什么益处呢？他还能用什么换回生命呢？“在这淫乱、罪恶的世代，如果有人以我和我的道为耻，人子在父的荣耀中与圣天使再来的时候，也要以他为耻。”

你们若随从罪恶本性活着，必定死亡；但若靠着圣灵除去身体的恶行，就必活着。

爱惜自己生命的，必会失掉生命；憎恶自己今世生命的，才能保住生命，直到永生。谁要事奉我，就要跟从我。我在哪里，事奉我的人也要在哪里。我父必尊重事奉我的人。

这恩典教导我们除掉不敬虔的心和世俗的私欲，在今世过自律、公义、敬畏上帝的生活，

所以，你们要治死身上属世的罪恶，如淫乱、污秽、邪情、恶欲和贪心，贪心就是拜偶像，

其实凡立志在基督耶稣里过敬虔生活的人都会受到迫害。

彼得把耶稣拉到一边，劝阻祂说：“主啊，千万不可！这件事绝不会发生在你身上！”耶稣立刻转过身来责备彼得说：“撒旦，退到我后面去！你是我的绊脚石，因为你不考虑上帝的意思，只考虑人的意思。”于是耶稣对门徒说：“如果有人要跟从我，就应当舍己，背起他的十字架跟从我。因为想救自己生命的，必失去生命；但为了我而失去生命的，必得到生命。

我们又何必时刻身临险境呢？我天天与死亡搏斗。弟兄姊妹，我这样说，就跟我在主基督耶稣里以你们为荣一样，没有半点虚假。
