有人慷慨好施，反增添更多；有人该给不给，却导致缺乏。慷慨祝福的，必得丰裕；使人得润泽的，自己也蒙恩泽。

但耶稣说：“他们不需要离开，你们给他们吃的吧。”门徒们对耶稣说：“我们这里除了五个饼和两条鱼，就没有什么了。”

但耶稣回答他们，说：“你们给他们吃的吧。”门徒们说：“要我们去买两百个银币的饼给他们吃吗？”耶稣问他们：“你们有多少饼呢？去看看。”他们察看后，就说：“有五个，还有两条鱼。”

耶稣举目观看，见一大群人向他走来，就对腓力说：“我们从哪里买饼给这些人吃呢？”他说这话是要试试腓力，其实他自己已经知道要做什么了。腓力回答：“就是两百个银币的饼，也不够每个人吃一小块！”他的一个门徒，就是西门彼得的弟弟安得烈，对耶稣说：“这里有个孩子，带了五个大麦饼和两条鱼。可是对这么多人，这些算什么呢？”
