The man from whom the demons had gone out begged to go with him, but Jesus sent him away, saying,

As he was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon-possessed begged him earnestly that he might remain with him.Jesus did not let him but told him,“ Go home to your own people, and report to them how much the Lord has done for you and how he has had mercy on you.”So he went out and began to proclaim in the Decapolis how much Jesus had done for him, and they were all amazed.

Then all the people of the Gerasene region asked him to leave them, because they were gripped by great fear. So getting into the boat, he returned.

Let them give thanks to the LORD for his faithful love and his wondrous works for all humanity.Let them exalt him in the assembly of the people and praise him in the council of the elders.

The LORD is great and is highly praised; his greatness is unsearchable.One generation will declare your works to the next and will proclaim your mighty acts.I will speak of your splendor and glorious majesty and your wondrous works.They will proclaim the power of your awe-inspiring acts, and I will declare your greatness.They will give a testimony of your great goodness and will joyfully sing of your righteousness.The LORD is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and great in faithful love.The LORD is good to everyone; his compassion rests on all he has made.All you have made will thank you, LORD; the faithful will bless you.They will speak of the glory of your kingdom and will declare your might,informing all people of your mighty acts and of the glorious splendor of your kingdom.

You are to fear the LORD your God and worship him. Remain faithful to him and take oaths in his name.He is your praise and he is your God, who has done for you these great and awe-inspiring works your eyes have seen.

They simply kept hearing,“ He who formerly persecuted us now preaches the faith he once tried to destroy.”And they glorified God because of me.

LORD, I am indeed your servant; I am your servant, the son of your female servant. You have loosened my bonds.

On that day explain to your son,‘ This is because of what the LORD did for me when I came out of Egypt.’Let it serve as a sign for you on your hand and as a reminder on your forehead, so that the LORD’s instruction may be in your mouth; for the LORD brought you out of Egypt with a strong hand.

even though I was formerly a blasphemer, a persecutor, and an arrogant man. But I received mercy because I acted out of ignorance in unbelief,and the grace of our Lord overflowed, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.This saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance:“ Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners”— and I am the worst of them.But I received mercy for this reason, so that in me, the worst of them, Christ Jesus might demonstrate his extraordinary patience as an example to those who would believe in him for eternal life.

Let them give thanks to the LORD for his faithful love and his wondrous works for all humanity.Let them offer thanksgiving sacrifices and announce his works with shouts of joy.

things we have heard and known and that our ancestors have passed down to us.We will not hide them from their children, but will tell a future generation the praiseworthy acts of the LORD, his might, and the wondrous works he has performed.He established a testimony in Jacob and set up a law in Israel, which he commanded our ancestors to teach to their childrenso that a future generation— children yet to be born— might know. They were to rise and tell their children

I am torn between the two. I long to depart and be with Christ— which is far better—

You are my hiding place; you protect me from trouble. You surround me with joyful shouts of deliverance. Selah

When you enter the land that the LORD will give you as he promised, you are to observe this ceremony.When your children ask you,‘ What does this ceremony mean to you?’you are to reply,‘ It is the Passover sacrifice to the LORD, for he passed over the houses of the Israelites in Egypt when he struck the Egyptians, and he spared our homes.’” So the people knelt low and worshiped.

“ In the future, when your son asks you,‘ What does this mean?’ say to him,‘ By the strength of his hand the LORD brought us out of Egypt, out of the place of slavery.When Pharaoh stubbornly refused to let us go, the LORD killed every firstborn male in the land of Egypt, both the firstborn of humans and the firstborn of livestock. That is why I sacrifice to the LORD all the firstborn of the womb that are males, but I redeem all the firstborn of my sons.’So let it be a sign on your hand and a symbol on your forehead, for the LORD brought us out of Egypt by the strength of his hand.”

God, you have taught me from my youth, and I still proclaim your wondrous works.Even while I am old and gray, God, do not abandon me, while I proclaim your power to another generation, your strength to all who are to come.

I will make known the LORD’s faithful love and the LORD’s praiseworthy acts, because of all the LORD has done for us— even the many good things he has done for the house of Israel, which he did for them based on his compassion and the abundance of his faithful love.He said,“ They are indeed my people, children who will not be disloyal,” and he became their Savior.In all their suffering, he suffered, and the angel of his presence saved them. He redeemed them because of his love and compassion; he lifted them up and carried them all the days of the past.But they rebelled and grieved his Holy Spirit. So he became their enemy and fought against them.Then he remembered the days of the past, the days of Moses and his people. Where is he who brought them out of the sea with the shepherds of his flock? Where is he who put his Holy Spirit among the flock?He made his glorious strength available at the right hand of Moses, divided the water before them to make an eternal name for himself,and led them through the depths like a horse in the wilderness, so that they did not stumble.

How can I repay the LORD for all the good he has done for me?

“ Lord,” Ananias answered,“ I have heard from many people about this man, how much harm he has done to your saints in Jerusalem.And he has authority here from the chief priests to arrest all who call on your name.”But the Lord said to him,“ Go, for this man is my chosen instrument to take my name to Gentiles, kings, and Israelites.I will show him how much he must suffer for my name.”

The LORD’s works are great, studied by all who delight in them.All that he does is splendid and majestic; his righteousness endures forever.He has caused his wondrous works to be remembered. The LORD is gracious and compassionate.

When he saw Jesus, he cried out, fell down before him, and said in a loud voice,“ What do you have to do with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg you, don’t torment me!”

I have asked one thing from the LORD; it is what I desire: to dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, gazing on the beauty of the LORD and seeking him in his temple.
