So they earnestly begged Jesus to help the man.“ If anyone deserves your help, he does,” they said,

他們來到耶穌那裡，殷切地求他說：「這人配得你的幫助，

乃詣耶穌懇求曰、爾為之行此、其人宜也、

長老就耶穌切求曰、以此事施此人、宜也、

長老就耶穌切求曰、此人堪受主恩、可為之行此事、

長老既至、懇切求之曰：『百夫長素愛吾民、曾為吾人建立會堂；

When they came to Jesus, they pleaded earnestly with him,“ This man deserves to have you do this,

And when they came to Jesus, they besought him instantly, saying, That he was worthy for whom he should do this:

When they came to Jesus, they urged him earnestly,“ He is worthy to have you do this for him,

If it turns out to be a worthy home, let your blessing stand; if it is not, take back the blessing.

“ If you love your father or mother more than you love me, you are not worthy of being mine; or if you love your son or daughter more than me, you are not worthy of being mine.If you refuse to take up your cross and follow me, you are not worthy of being mine.

“ Yet there are some in the church in Sardis who have not soiled their clothes with evil. They will walk with me in white, for they are worthy.

“ Whenever you enter a city or village, search for a worthy person and stay in his home until you leave town.

But in the age to come, those worthy of being raised from the dead will neither marry nor be given in marriage.

So Jesus went with them. But just before they arrived at the house, the officer sent some friends to say,“ Lord, don’t trouble yourself by coming to my home, for I am not worthy of such an honor.I am not even worthy to come and meet you. Just say the word from where you are, and my servant will be healed.
