Which of the two did the will of his father?” They said,“ The first.” Jesus said to them,“ Truly, I say to you, the tax collectors and the prostitutes go into the kingdom of God before you.

But the tax collector, standing far off, would not even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying,‘ God, be merciful to me, a sinner!’

Why do you trouble her? She has done a beautiful thing to me.For you always have the poor with you, and whenever you want, you can do good for them. But you will not always have me.She has done what she could; she has anointed my body beforehand for burial.And truly, I say to you, wherever the gospel is proclaimed in the whole world, what she has done will be told in memory of her.”

understanding this, that the law is not laid down for the just but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who strike their fathers and mothers, for murderers,

And“ If the righteous is scarcely saved, what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?”

And the Pharisees and their scribes grumbled at his disciples, saying,“ Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?”

but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

We know that God does not listen to sinners, but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does his will, God listens to him.

Six days before the Passover, Jesus therefore came to Bethany, where Lazarus was, whom Jesus had raised from the dead.So they gave a dinner for him there. Martha served, and Lazarus was one of those reclining with him at table.Mary therefore took a pound of expensive ointment made from pure nard, and anointed the feet of Jesus and wiped his feet with her hair. The house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume.But Judas Iscariot, one of his disciples( he who was about to betray him), said,“ Why was this ointment not sold for three hundred denarii and given to the poor?”He said this, not because he cared about the poor, but because he was a thief, and having charge of the moneybag he used to help himself to what was put into it.Jesus said,“ Leave her alone, so that she may keep it for the day of my burial.For the poor you always have with you, but you do not always have me.”

So for the second time they called the man who had been blind and said to him,“ Give glory to God. We know that this man is a sinner.”

The Son of Man has come eating and drinking, and you say,‘ Look at him! A glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’

And when they saw it, they all grumbled,“ He has gone in to be the guest of a man who is a sinner.”

The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the foremost.
