Jesus answered them,“ Haven’t you ever read about what David did? He and his men were hungry.

耶穌回答他們，說：「大衛和那些與他在一起的人飢餓時所做的事，你們難道這個也沒有讀過嗎？

耶穌曰、爾未讀大衛及從者飢時所行乎、

耶穌曰、爾未知大闢及從者、饑時所行乎、

耶穌答曰、經載大衛及從者饑時所行之事、爾未讀之乎、

耶穌應曰：『爾曹未讀大維及其從者飢時之所為乎？

Jesus answered them,“ Have you never read what David did when he and his companions were hungry?

And Jesus answered them,“ Have you not read what David did when he was hungry, he and those who were with him:

Jesus replied,“ Haven’t you read in the Scriptures what David did when he and his companions were hungry?

Jesus answered them,“ Haven’t you read what David and those who were with him did when he was hungry—

And Jesus answering them said, Have ye not read so much as this, what David did, when himself was an hungred, and they which were with him;

Jesus answered them,“ Haven’t you read what David did when he and his companions were hungry–

Jesus, answering them, said,“ Haven’t you read what David did when he was hungry, he, and those who were with him;

Do you have anything for us to eat? Give me five loaves of bread, or anything else you can find.”But the priest answered David,“ I don’t have any bread that isn’t holy. I only have some holy bread here. But it’s for men who haven’t slept with women recently.”David replied,“ Well, we haven’t slept with women recently. That’s the way it is every time I lead my men out to battle. We keep ourselves holy even when we do jobs that aren’t holy. And that’s even more true today.”So the priest gave him the holy bread. It was the only bread he had. It had been removed from the table that was in front of the Lord. On the same day, hot bread had been put in its place.

He answered,“ Haven’t you ever read about what David did? He and his men were hungry. They needed food.It was when Abiathar was high priest. David entered the house of God and ate the holy bread. Only priests were allowed to eat it. David also gave some to his men.”

Jesus answered,“ Haven’t you read about what David did? He and his men were hungry.So he entered the house of God. He and his men ate the holy bread. Only priests were allowed to eat it.Haven’t you read the Law? It tells how every Sabbath day the priests in the temple have to do their work on that day. But they are not considered guilty.

“ Do you hear what these children are saying?” they asked him.“ Yes,” replied Jesus.“ Haven’t you ever read about it in Scripture? It says,“‘ Lord, you have made sure that children and infants praise you.’ ”( Psalm 8:2)

Haven’t you read what this part of Scripture says,“‘ The stone the builders didn’t accept has become the most important stone of all.

What about the dead rising? Haven’t you read what God said to you?

What about the dead rising? Haven’t you read in the Book of Moses the story of the burning bush? God said to Moses,‘ I am the God of Abraham. I am the God of Isaac. And I am the God of Jacob.’( Exodus 3:6)

Jesus said to them,“ Haven’t you ever read what the Scriptures say,“‘ The stone the builders didn’t accept has become the most important stone of all. The Lord has done it. It is wonderful in our eyes’?( Psalm 118:22, 23)

Jesus replied,“ Haven’t you read that in the beginning the Creator‘ made them male and female’?( Genesis 1:27)
