Some of the Pharisees asked,“ Why are you doing what is unlawful on the Sabbath?”

Some of the Pharisees said,“ It is against the Law to do this on the Sabbath day. Why are you doing it?”

But some of the Pharisees said,“ Why are you doing what is not lawful to do on the Sabbath?”

But some Pharisees said,“ Why are you breaking the law by harvesting grain on the Sabbath?”

If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, and the holy of Jehovah honorable; and shalt honor it, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:

And the Pharisees said unto him, Behold, why do they on the sabbath day that which is not lawful?

And the scribes and the Pharisees watched him, whether he would heal on the sabbath; that they might find how to accuse him.But he knew their thoughts; and he said to the man that had his hand withered, Rise up, and stand forth in the midst. And he arose and stood forth.And Jesus said unto them, I ask you, Is it lawful on the sabbath to do good, or to do harm? to save a life, or to destroy it?

If a man deliver unto his neighbor an ass, or an ox, or a sheep, or any beast, to keep; and it die, or be hurt, or driven away, no man seeing it:

And they said unto him, The disciples of John fast often, and make supplications; likewise also the disciples of the Pharisees; but thine eat and drink.

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye tithe mint and anise and cummin, and have left undone the weightier matters of the law, justice, and mercy, and faith: but these ye ought to have done, and not to have left the other undone.Ye blind guides, that strain out the gnat, and swallow the camel!

Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread.

Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day is a sabbath of solemn rest, holy to Jehovah: whosoever doeth any work on the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death.

And he said unto them, He put clay upon mine eyes, and I washed, and I see.Some therefore of the Pharisees said, This man is not from God, because he keepeth not the sabbath. But others said, How can a man that is a sinner do such signs? And there was a division among them.
