耶稣上了山，把合自己心意的人召集到跟前，从中选出十二个人，设立他们为使徒，让他们跟随自己，并且差遣他们出去传道，赐他们赶鬼的权柄。这十二位使徒是：西门——耶稣给他取名叫彼得、西庇太的儿子雅各和雅各的兄弟约翰——耶稣给他们取名叫“半尼其”，就是“雷霆之子”的意思、安得烈、腓力、巴多罗买、马太、多马、亚勒腓的儿子雅各、达太、激进党人西门、及后来出卖耶稣的加略人犹大。

使徒们聚集在耶稣身边，向祂报告事工和传道的经过。

耶稣说：“我实在告诉你们，到万物更新、人子坐在祂荣耀的宝座上时，你们这些跟从我的人也要坐在十二个宝座上，审判以色列的十二个支派。

他们进城后，来到楼上自己住的房间。当时有彼得、约翰、雅各、安得烈、腓力、多马、巴多罗买、马太、亚勒腓的儿子雅各、激进党人西门、雅各的儿子犹大。

叫你们记得从前圣先知们说的预言，以及我们的主和救主借着派到你们那里的使徒所传给你们的诫命。

你们已被建立在众使徒和先知们的基础上，基督耶稣自己是房角石。

使你们在我的国中和我一同坐席，并且坐在宝座上审判以色列的十二个支派。”

祂看见众人，心里怜悯他们，因为他们困苦无助，好像没有牧人的羊。耶稣对门徒说：“要收割的庄稼很多，工人却很少。因此，你们要祈求庄稼的主人派更多的工人去收割。”耶稣叫了十二位门徒来，将权柄赐给他们，使他们能够赶出污鬼、医治各样的疾病。以下是这十二位使徒的名字：首先是西门，又名彼得，还有彼得的兄弟安得烈、西庇太的儿子雅各、雅各的兄弟约翰、腓力、巴多罗买、多马、税吏马太、亚勒腓的儿子雅各、达太、激进党人西门和出卖耶稣的加略人犹大。

因此，充满智慧的上帝说，‘我要差遣先知和使徒到他们那里，有些要被杀害，有些要遭迫害’，

因此，同蒙天召的圣洁的弟兄姊妹，你们应当仔细思想那位我们公认为特使和大祭司的耶稣。

耶稣召集了十二个使徒，赐他们能力和权柄可以医病赶鬼，又差遣他们出去宣讲上帝国的福音、医治病人。

在天上出现了一个奇异的景象：有一个妇人，身披太阳，脚踏月亮，头戴有十二颗星的冠冕。

上天啊，众圣徒、众使徒和众先知啊，为她的下场欢乐吧！因为上帝已经向她施行报应，为你们申冤了。”

祂赐恩让一些人做使徒，一些人做先知，一些人做传福音的，一些人做牧师和教师，
