彼眾問曰、約翰之門徒、往往禁食、且祈禱、法利賽門徒亦然、惟爾門徒飲食、何歟、

眾謂之曰、約翰之徒屢禁食祈禱、法利賽之徒亦然、惟爾徒式食式飲焉、

眾曰、約翰之徒、屢禁食祈禱、𠵽唎㘔徒亦然、惟爾門徒飲食、何歟、

若輩又問曰：『如望門徒頻齋久禱、法利塞人亦然、惟爾門徒亦飲亦食何也？』

They said to him,“ John’s disciples often fast and pray, and so do the disciples of the Pharisees, but yours go on eating and drinking.”

Some of the people who were there said to Jesus,“ John’s disciples often pray and go without eating. So do the disciples of the Pharisees. But yours go on eating and drinking.”

And they said to him,“ The disciples of John fast often and offer prayers, and so do the disciples of the Pharisees, but yours eat and drink.”

One day some people said to Jesus,“ John the Baptist’s disciples fast and pray regularly, and so do the disciples of the Pharisees. Why are your disciples always eating and drinking?”

Then they said to him,“ John’s disciples fast often and say prayers, and those of the Pharisees do the same, but yours eat and drink.”

And they said to Him,“ The disciples of John often fast and offer prayers, the disciples of the Pharisees also do the same, but Yours eat and drink.”

Then they said to Him,“ Why do the disciples of John fast often and make prayers, and likewise those of the Pharisees, but Yours eat and drink?”

And they said unto him, The disciples of John fast often, and make supplications; likewise also the disciples of the Pharisees; but thine eat and drink.

Then they said to Him,“ John’s disciples fast often and say prayers, and those of the Pharisees do the same, but Yours eat and drink.”

And they said unto him, Why do the disciples of John fast often, and make prayers, and likewise[ the disciples] of the Pharisees; but thine eat and drink?

Then they said to him,“ John’s disciples frequently fast and pray, and so do the disciples of the Pharisees, but yours continue to eat and drink.”

They said to him,“ Why do John’s disciples often fast and pray, likewise also the disciples of the Pharisees, but yours eat and drink?”

我七日禁食二日、以凡所得者、十輸其一、

約翰之門徒與法利賽人皆禁食、或就耶穌曰、約翰之門徒、與法利賽門徒禁食、爾門徒不禁食、何也、耶穌曰、新娶者尚在、賀娶之客豈可禁食、蓋新娶者尚在、彼不能禁食、惟日將至、新娶者別之去、其時則禁食、未有以新布補舊衣者、恐所補之新布、反裂其舊衣、而綻尤甚、未有盛新酒於舊革囊者、恐新酒裂囊、酒漏而囊亦壞、惟新酒必盛於新囊、○

時約翰之門徒就耶穌曰、我儕與法利賽人、往往禁食、爾門徒不禁食、何也、耶穌答曰、新娶者、與賀娶之客同在、賀娶之客、豈能悲哀乎、惟將來新娶者別之去、彼時則禁食、未有用新布補舊衣者、蓋所補之新布、反裂其舊衣、而綻更甚、未有盛新酒於舊革囊者、恐囊裂酒漏、並囊亦壞、惟盛新酒於新囊、則二者並全、○

耶穌在一處祈禱、既畢、有一門徒曰、主教我儕祈禱、猶約翰之教其門徒、

約翰門徒、與猶太人辯論潔禮、

明日、約翰復立、二門徒偕之、

爾舉手禱告、我掩目不顧、爾雖多祈禱、我不俯聽、因爾殺無辜、手滿血跡、

彼曰、我儕禁食而主不視、反躬克己而主不顧、是何故歟、曰、爾曹禁食、仍求利己、且勒逼人為爾作工、爾曹禁食、依然相爭相競、逞兇揮拳毆擊、爾今如此禁食、爾呼籲之聲、必不升聞於上、爾呼籲之聲必不升聞於上或作並非欲爾呼籲之聲升聞於上人自刻苦、垂頭如葦、以麻布塵埃為床、如是禁食之日、豈我所悅乎、爾豈可稱為禁食乎、可視為主所悅之日乎、釋兇暴之繩、解欺壓之索、釋受虐者、折一切壓人之軛、如是之禁食、始為我所悅、

人子至亦食亦飲、爾又言其嗜食好酒、與稅吏及罪人為友、惟有道者、皆以道為是、或作惟上智之子必以上智為是○

不德律法者、其祈禱為主所厭惡、

吞嫠婦之家貲、佯為長祈、其受刑必尤重也、

爾飲食、非為己而食、為己而飲哉、

主曰、爾起往直街、至猶大家、訪達蘇人名掃羅者、彼方祈禱、

禍哉爾偽善之經士與法利賽人、因爾在人前閉天國之門、爾自不入、有欲入者、爾亦不許其入、

我為彼作證、彼熱中事天主、但不由知識也、蓋彼不識天主之義、而欲立己之義、故未服天主之義、

爾祈禱時、勿似偽善者、喜立於會堂及街衢而祈禱、故令人見、我誠告爾、彼已得其賞、爾祈禱時、當入密室、閉門祈禱爾在隱之父、爾父鑒觀於隱、將顯以報爾、
