到了傍晚，人们把许多有鬼魔附身的人带到耶稣那里。耶稣话语一出就把那些邪灵都赶了出去，并且使所有患病的人痊愈了。这样，那藉着先知以赛亚所说的话就应验了：“他亲自代替了我们的软弱，担当了我们的疾病。”

甚至有人把保罗身上的手巾和围裙拿去，放在病人身上，疾病就从他们身上消退了，邪灵也出去了。

耶稣听了这事，就上船离开那里，独自到一个荒僻的地方去。众人听到了，就从各城镇徒步来跟随他。

人们跑遍那整个地区，听到耶稣在哪里，就把有病的人用垫子抬到哪里。无论耶稣进到哪里，或村庄、或城镇、或乡下，人们就把病人放在街市上，恳求耶稣只要让他们摸一下他的衣服穗子。凡是摸着的人，都得了救治。

因为他使许多人痊愈，所以有病痛的人都向他挤过来，想要摸到他。

所以，耶稣无法在那里行什么神迹，只是按手在几个病人身上，使他们痊愈。

就在那时候，耶稣治愈了许多有疾病的、有苦痛的、被邪灵附着的人，又施恩给许多瞎眼的使他们能看见。于是耶稣回答那两个人，说：“你们去把所看见、所听见的告诉约翰，就是：瞎眼的得以看见，瘸腿的行走，麻风病人被洁净，耳聋的听见，死人得以复活，穷人得以听到福音。凡不因我被绊倒的人，就蒙福了。”

就是：瞎眼的得以看见，瘸腿的行走，麻风病人被洁净，耳聋的听见，死人得以复活，穷人得以听到福音。

人们甚至把病人抬到大街上来，放在床榻上或垫子上，为要在彼得走过来的时候，至少他的影子可以落在一些人身上。

耶稣走遍全加利利，在他们的会堂里教导人，传天国的福音，并且使民中各样的疾病和各样的症状痊愈。他的消息就在全叙利亚省传开了。人们把所有的病人，就是患各种疾病的、受疼痛折磨的、有鬼魔附身的、癫痫的、瘫痪的，都带到耶稣那里。耶稣就使他们痊愈。
