智者以明辨著稱，甜言能說服人心。

回到自己的家鄉拿撒勒，在會堂裡教導人。人們很驚奇，說：「這個人從哪裡得到如此的智慧和神奇的能力呢？這不是那木匠的兒子嗎？祂母親不是瑪麗亞嗎？祂的弟弟不是雅各、約瑟、西門和猶大嗎？祂的妹妹們不也是住在我們這裡嗎？祂究竟從哪裡得來這一身本領呢？」

你俊美無比，口出恩言，因此上帝永遠賜福給你。

主耶和華賜我教導的能力，使我知道用什麼話幫助疲乏的人。每天早晨，主喚醒我，叫我像受教者那樣側耳聆聽。

到了安息日，祂開始在會堂裡教導人，眾人聽了都很驚奇，說：「這個人從哪裡學來這些本領？祂怎麼會有這種智慧？祂怎麼能行這樣的神蹟？這不是那個木匠嗎？祂不是瑪麗亞的兒子嗎？祂不是雅各、約西、猶大、西門的大哥嗎？祂的妹妹們不也住在我們這裡嗎？」他們就對祂很反感。

言語純全、無可指責，讓那些反對的人無話可說、自覺羞愧。

傳道者費盡心思尋找金玉良言，所寫的都是正直誠實的道理。智者的言語好像趕牛的刺棍，他們收集的箴言像釘穩的釘子一樣牢靠，都是一位牧者所賜的。

他們無法駁倒司提凡，因為他靠著智慧和聖靈說話。

差役答道：「從未有人像祂那樣說話！」

一句話說得合宜，就像金蘋果放在銀器裡。

他的嘴甘甜如蜜，整個人都令人愛慕。耶路撒冷的少女啊，這就是我的良人，我的朋友。

祂的知識和對答令聽見的人感到驚奇。

因為我會賜給你們口才、智慧，使你們的仇敵全無反駁的餘地。

義人說話得體合宜，惡人的口胡言亂語。

你威嚴無比，所向披靡，捍衛真理和正義，保護卑微的人。願你的右手彰顯可畏的作為！
