他們從別加往前走，到了彼西底的安提阿，在安息日進了會堂，就坐下來。宣讀了律法和先知書以後，會堂的理事們派人到他們那裡來，說：“弟兄們，如果有甚麼勸勉眾人的話，請說吧！”保羅就站起來，作了一個手勢，說：“以色列人和敬畏神的人，請聽！

他們按著主的律法辦完一切，就回加利利，到自己的城拿撒勒去了。

當他十二歲時，他們按著節期的慣例，照常上去。

來到拿撒勒城住下，這樣就應驗了先知所說的：“他必稱為拿撒勒人。”

他回到自己的家鄉，在會堂裡教導人，眾人都驚奇，說：“這個人的智慧和能力是從哪裡來的呢？他不是木匠的兒子嗎？他母親不是馬利亞，他弟弟不是雅各、約瑟、西門和猶大嗎？

耶穌對大祭司說：“我向來對世人講話都是公開的，我常常在會堂和聖殿裡，就是在所有猶太人聚集的地方教導人，暗地裡我並沒有講甚麼。

他就對他們說：“這段經文今天應驗在你們中間（“中間”原文作“耳中”）了。”

他在各會堂裡教導人，很受眾人的尊崇。

到了第六個月，天使加百列奉神差遣，往加利利的拿撒勒城去，到了一個童貞女那裡，她已經和大衛家一個名叫約瑟的人訂了婚，童貞女的名字是馬利亞。
